Finally, some big streamer like Asmongold also acknowledges that there is a need for new battlegrounds in the game. The last map of SSM and DWG that rotate in RBGs came out in MoP which is over a decade ago.
Instead of giving new arena maps, it is really the time to bring out new Battlegrounds!! Unless PvPers react to posts like this one and share their opinion and request the Devs, nothing will ever happen for us RBGers.
Yep. People say PvP is dying because it’s bad. No, it’s because there is no visual updates. No new BGs, beside some arena maps, but casuals are what make up the majority of the game, and casuals are mostly BG players.
I don’t care if it’s a literal reskin of AB or WSG. Just give us something new to look at.
Arathi Basin, but it’s lava themed like The Waking Shores, or WSG reskin so it looks like snowy Azure Span.
At least one more snow map besides Alterac

A new epic Battleground would do nicely, and perhaps a new map with the same Layout of Eye of the Storm where you control bases and capture flags for bonus scoring.
I’m not opposed to this. If other players would like some new maps, then I think we should get some new maps.
But for me, the OG maps are my favorite.
AB > Deepwing Gorge
AV > Wintergrasp > Isle of Conquest
Twin Peaks is the exception for me. That one is as good as WSG
Couldn’t care less for a new BG except they figure out 3 factions BGs are way more fluid and unpredictable and try to implement them

Just a reskin of the existing bgs would be a lot but it is not that hard to think of making just a new map! If they can copy paste Dragon Riding from Guild Wars 2, how hard can it be to implement any of their bg maps of 3 nodes, which would eventually give us new modes to work at as well and change the entire complexion of rated battlegrounds
The last map that could rotate in rbgs was Silvershard Mines and DWG which came out in MoP. That is more than 10 years ago! How come a franchise like WoW take more than 10 years to bring in new maps! This is just not understandable…
The oldest battlegrounds are the best, if they can’t make any better then they better not.
A lot of the newer bg’s are quite boring
I think the best solution would be to remove BGs like Seething Shore which I’ve yet to see anyone say they enjoy and deepwind gorge which is just AB 2.0 - I think a more objective based PvP wold be a great addition where outside of bases / flags we could have an objective to focus on, hell, you can add in PvP dragon riding with limited abilities for combat as they said that we’d have aerial combat in wintergrasp back in wotlk.
Same. I don’t know if it because i played them since 2007 but AV / Arathi will always be the best for me. WSG gets too loopsided because of premades to be good those days.
Dragonflight is an absolute Dope Expansion and the World PvP is sick. Blizz now taking due care to improve and streamline SoloQ as well. If they can put just 10% of the efforts into Rated Battlegrounds, this game would be sick and no other MMO can ever beat it again.
Blizzard Devs, please give us new battlegrounds and bring more incentive in RBGs
It is THE need of the hour that Blizzard now brings in new battleground maps. They are listening to player feedback hence I am hopeful they will listen to this decade-old request of bringing in new battlegrounds and put them in RBG rotation rosters.
When I come back to forums, it seems that most of the players who are doing PvP is for random reasons and hardly anyone is really focused to bring the Developer’s attention to this core problem of this part of the game that we “didn’t have a new bg map” for rbg rotation for over a decade!! I am really not sure how we can actually reach out to the Developers and get at least one new bg map… how difficult it is for the Dev team to do the same???
Seething shore was bfa right? Thats not 10 years ago. But if they add every 2 expansions, now its the time.
I’d rather they fixed current bgs and made them fun. Almost 20 years and i still have to click 80 times so the npc can get my 80 insignias in av. I mean come on it’s clearly they don’t give 2 shiz about bgs.
I have put up questions to their latest tweet on the development roadmap ahead and besides me every 2nd tweet asked for a new bgs and overall improvement of bgs
It was Legion I think. I didn’t play at all during BfA and remember when Seething Shore was released (it had a Call to Arms event).
