So let us make a status update on this thread folks.
This thread was created all the way back on Jan the 8th. Since then a lot has happened.
Firstly)
I have been vindicated by the released numbers. The numbers show that the raid is significantly harder than the raids released in both Legion and BFA. According to the numbers the raid seems to be around the same difficulty as Shadowlands raids (you know the disaster raids which had low participation because they were too hard).
RAID | % guilds got AOTC 4 weeks in | |
---|---|---|
The Nighthold | 27.91 % | |
Tomb of Sarg | 21.81 % | |
Antorus | 36.73 % | |
Uldir | 18.34 % | |
BDA | 20.88 % | |
Eternal Palace | 28.38 % | |
Nyalotha | 31.83 % | |
Castle Nathria | 11.06 % | |
Sylv Raid | 13.69 % | |
Shadowlands final fail raid | 4 % | |
vault of incarn | 12.1 % |
The participation in the raid in general is also awful, see Bells video for numbers. Funny how low participation seems to follow difficulty every time, huh?
There are now also daily posts on the EU forum complaining about the difficulty of Raz on Heroic, to the point where users are complaining about the daily threads.
Good news though, if you think the raid is needlessly hard, all the numbers agree with you.
Secondly)
Remember how I predicted a massive issue from the increased skill-gap from talent trees as well as lack of passive damage like we had in Legion / BFA? The issue being that the game would be harder and there would be no way to outgear content properly because of lack of borrowed power and titanforging?
Well Blizzard has seemed to agree, and have decided to release primordial stones in .7 as a sort of temporary borrowed power.
Of course, by the time they are released a lot of people will simply have quit, too little too late. I still do commend Blizzard for releasing this stuff, and I hope they do not listen to the crybabies who don´t understand the importance of borrowed power due to the massive skill gap that now exists within our game.
I also personally believe that Blizzard need to adjust raid gearing to make it relevant, or make raiding significantly easier. Guilds are stuck on Heroic, especially if they do not do M+ on the side. I have been talking about how M+ is honestly just a poorly implemented borrowed power system for raiders at the moment in the following thread (yes I have a thread for everything)
