Assassination Rogue 8.2

Hello kind reader,

I changed from outlaw to assassination recently, but i found this spec very difficult. People recommend subterfuge over master assassin, but if i look at the SimDPS everyone is using Master assassin. Can people give me some tips and tricks about assassination rogue overall for mythic+ and raiding. This can be about playstyle, azerite traits, talents, weapon enchants etcetera.

Thanks for your time!

For M+ you generally want aoe traits, so echoing blades if your going for crit aoe, shroud of suffocation if your going for mastery aoe traits. Master assassin when you go echoing blades, subterfuge for the mastery build. Other than that the build remains fairly static.

https://www.raidbots.com/simbot/talents you can use this to sim for raiding or M+ if you know how to use it.

https://bloodmallet.com/index.html#rogue_assassination this can tell you what trinkets, traits, talents, race, gear etc performs best and what ilvl and what scenario with static values

http://www.ravenholdt.net/assassination-guide/#rot this should come in handy for rotation to help you understand how to do your rotation with x-traits & talents.

Double dose is the no brainer trait for ST/raiding!

If you are using Double Dose you go Master Assassin. This is purely single target.
If you are using Shrouded Suffocation you go Subterfuge. This is both single and multi-target, but slightly less damage than DD on single.

If you’re doing M+ or any sort of cleave / AoE you want as many Shrouded Suffocations as possible and spread them during your opener and using Vanish.
Multiple Echoing Blades are recommended for M+ on top of Shrouded Suffocations.

Stack Crit/Mastery for M+ (this usually doesn’t change). You will get your energy from multi-DoTing.
Haste/mastery/crit for raiding / single target (you’ll need to run sims to figure out specific priorities).

For specific openers consult links provided by Vulrin.
If you’re not sure something is good or not run sims.
