If you look on icy-veins and other guides they say that stat priority for assa rogue in ST is Haste > Crit / Mastery > Vers (excluding agility). I am wondering if there is a minimum or maximum that we want to be hitting regardless.
Going by the above would suggest that equipping gear with hast/crit in every slot would be best, with haste in every gem slot. That however would mean a very low mastery stat and potentially pretty weak bleeds and poisons.
Obviously haste is top, especially with Expedient corruption, but do you think it is best to evenly distribute haste/crit and haste/mastery gear, or go all in on crit?
I have, and they all say the same thing. Method, Wowhead, etc, theyare all the same. I feel like a lot of them are just copied and pasted as they all say the same thing.
The only other way of finding out is simming a char with every possible stat combination. Not really sure how to do that using Raidbots unless I have a pieces of gear with every stat combination to use in the combinations.
Ye you have to use wowhead, iciveins, method etc etc just for basic infos… i sugest you to watch some streamer that are using ur class and try to understand / copy how they playing
I recently came back to my rogue after a long break playing it and when I went back to view some streamers I used to watch who are still playing assassination said that you aim for haste to around 20% > Versatility > Crit > Haste = Mastery.
They did confirm beyond the 20% haste you should sim your character often to determine the best stats while maintaining the 20% haste.
Please bare in mind, I have no logs or validation for this priority, it is simply something I heard in a video.
The most popular - and best- build for raiding right now is simply going full haste with as many expedients as possible, and the talents Exsanguinate and Deeper Stratagem.
Choosing mastery or crit as a secondary stat isn’t important for several reasons :
they are close to each other
if you really want to go MAX haste then there is one item in the game that has the most haste per slot, and so you do with the secondary stat regardless
Forcing into crit or mastery isn’t good right now, as I said the only thing to go for is haste. So if the best boots are a ton of haste and a bit of crit, that’s the one you take, if the best legs have 260 haste and 50 mastery, that’s also what you take.
Alas, all the replies here are not really correct. The right way to go about it is to sim yourself - with your current gear and talents, and the type and duration of fight you want to engage in. Play around with raidbots (dot) com and you will know which stats - or rather specific gear/azerite/essences/talents/etc. are best for you.
