You should also be careful while communicating “inside” your guild. A small joke on guild chat, only you and targeted players will understand, can easily lead you an another automatic response. 
the new systems is designed to show that bliz care and are doing something about toxicity while also helping to reduce actual staffing levels. Win win.
obviously, not a win for those who want to report genuinely abusive behaviour, but that was never the point of it

Apparently it is the entire sentence that triggers it. Probably just a very thought out list of “potential trigger sentences” or maybe even AI automation.

So we did some experimenting. Yes it triggers a system, which I think is a bit over zealous on Blizzard’s behalf but it does not auto report you.
It gives the person receiving the message the option to show the message, then show it and report if they feel it was offensive.
Ofc neither of us reported the other I’m not sure if action would be taken. I’m not willing to put that to the test myself but it would seem daft for it to result in action. Bit over the top.

If the last word had been ‘die’ I would have understood but not fail. Fail is just mean. Die is something that should be reported.
