What is the reason that after you get something sold it takes about an hour to come in the mailbox with the gold?

Unless it’s an alt of yours or someone in the same guild as you all mail takes an hour to get to you. I presume getting the gold from another person is treated in this same way, despite buying giving you instant access to your purchase.
I’m not sure as to the why.
I’m sure I read somewhere it had something to do with gold sellers, although I’m not certain.
I believe it’s something like that, but I have nothing I can quote from anything xD
Because an hour and five minutes is just too long in comparison, I don’t know what to tell you.
I just wish there was a better method to quickly open all of the auction mail without bugging the box or waiting for it to come through on a delay.
I don’t know how it would stop gold selling, after all they can wait an hour for it too.
The closest thing to this would be running back to the ah when you need to wait for the other mails to show up in the mailbox. If you buy a claw item from legion for like 1 silver, it will be mailed instantly to your mailbox and resetting the mailbox in the meantime.
This makes it quicker to get things out of the mailbox. Otherwise you got to wait like 2 minutes for the rest of you mails to show up

Maybe it has to do with preventing overloads, or crashes. Remember a ton of people actually use it. Maybe they deemed it safe to have a little delay in the system so it would not overflood.
Just a guess.
It never occurred to me before, but it seems inconsistent for the gold from an auction to take an hour to get to you when an item from a cancelled auction comes back instantly.
Not entirely sure but i bet on the server manages the transactions to avoid lag/jitter . Take example real banks 1-2 working days to transfer money with is virtual currency .
