Augmentation will do what Brigitte did to Overwatch

Mark these words right here right now . November 8th 2023 this spec will cause some unrecoverable damage to this game should it continue its current state and pathway , the same way brigg did to overwatch and the same way shadowlands did to wow .

ever since the release of it ( which i was not around at the time i was on a break ) this thing has been getting some of the biggest declines on feedback from the community i have witnessed since like the covenants back in shadowlands . this thing is like a cancer for the game and it keeps on growing like a membrane

it seems like blizzard has some kind of self destruction habbit … sadge

Blizz got itself in a massive problem with Aug

In raid its OKish becasue its not the only class the brings some raid-wide buffs. And its DPS is not so outlandish.

However, the reason its mandatory is because those buffs can stack twice. For pro-level groups that can controll WHO gets the buff, its a mandatory spec. For less coordinated groups its a net dps loss to have one.

For M+ on the other hand… oh boy… they really messed up with Aug.

The reason its OP is because it buffs the healer and the tank. Especially in DF where the limiting factor in M+ is not dps but suvivability.

Should blizz decide to change that and make it a real DPS spec by limiting the buffs to only the DPS, the spec is dead. Because its much more reliable to bring a 3rd dps.

And if they dont change that, it will continue to be OP beyond measure.

Either way the spec is eather dead, or, OP beyond measure. This cant be balanced. Blizz needs to delete the spec and start over with their “support” role experiment. Except this time do it right with 1-1-1-3 and 2-2-2-6 dungeons/raids.

every time they decide to be cute and smart this happens … i know its not a very good comparison but thats exacty what happened with brigg , oh lets have some kind of new hybird heal dps tank character .

like what were they thinking when they made this , blows my mind , and now they’r to far down the rabbit hole and they cant change it …

i feel like when they think less they tend to do better . just dont come up with new ideas blizzard cause you suck at it

Overwatch was a new game. But in WoW what baffles me the most about Aug is the fact that over 20 years Blizz has learned 0 lessons when balancing out utility, party buffs, and externals (PI and BL).

A short list:

  • They turned Disc into a healer spec for a reason.
  • The made up alliance “space goats” that could be shamans for a reason.
  • They added battle ress to many specs for a reason.
  • They added raid buffs to nearly every spec in the game for a reason.

And the list goes on.

The conclusion that they should have gotten is that when it comes to players buffing other players and/or utility, either EVERYONE has it, or NOBODY has it. If only 1 spec has it, it gives a ton of balancing issues.

And then they show up with Aug, which is that problem to the power 10.

And dont get me wrong. I like the idea of “Support Roles”, and I think its a good thing for wow, and wow is a game that can have them.

But 100% I disagree to launch a support spec, call it a DPS, and not change a single thing from a 20 year old game that has been designed exclusivelly for the holy trinity.

Change the game first, THEN add Aug. Not the other way arround.
