Authentication madness

In short, I use two different internet connection in home because both of them are not stable. When I lose connection on one, i switch to other and blizzard’s battle net requires me to auth my account because my IP has changed.

I found a way to stop Authanticator phone app requirement. But now, I am forced into auth my account with Mail and it is more time consuming.

Each time i disconnect, I spend 3-4 minutes to login back and that causes trouble while raiding because 39 other people waiting me to login.

Please show me a way to remove mail auth from battle.net because I could not find any option for that in my account settings.

I really dont want your protection, if my account is hacked it is hacked I dont care at all and I have enough experience to protect it from being hacked.

edit : now I am unable to use group finder tool and list my group because I removed auth. That is cringe, I am considering unsubbing at this rate. Why I am being forced to deal with madness caused by authenticator ?

I had two Internet connections for about year and if one dropped and my router switched to another I wasn’t required to use 2FA to login again - in pretty much all cases the desktop application stayed logged in just fine after connection was restored. That was while ago though so I guess it is possible Blizzard has changed things.

Have you disabled “Always require authenticator for login” option?

If your account gets hacked it is not just your problem: hacked accounts can be used for spamming, botting, gold trades etc. activities which cause some level of disruption to the other players. Not to mention effort required to restore hacked accounts back to their owners so it is obviously in Blizzard’s best interest to keep least some minimum level of security on all accounts.

There is no madness. 2FA is quite simple and least for me it takes only few seconds to approve the login if I need it - assuming I have one of my devices nearby. I would think your constant disconnections are far bigger issue for your raid team even if you log-in back quickly.

I really dont know what is 2FA but my problem is each time auth required i have to go to my phone and

1- open my phone auth by fingerprint / writing password
2- open the application which is provided by blizzard
3- write down all the long text to auth edit controll.

The moment I finish writing long text, the time provided for auth expired. Restart.

Closing it requires more steps because mail authentication is required now.

1 - Login to my mail ( my mail also requires an auth … and sends me SMS )
2 - cannot copy paste sended code, so alt tab and write it down letter by letter to auth edit controll.

I literally just get a pop up on my mobile phone from the Blizz app asking if I want to approve login.

We don’t edit anything.

Two-factor authentication - basically the authenticator app.

That seems to be issue with your mail then, and why you cannot copy paste the code? I don’t think I have ever seen any email client which would not allow copying. Maybe one attempting to be some ultra-secure client but why anyone would use such for normal use…

For me, like Punyelf above said authentication for WoW (and many other services) is just unlock phone (takes few seconds more if phone wants password rather than just fingerprint), check the login from notifications and accept it if it is correct one. Manual codes are there of course as a backup (as they should work even if the device is offline) but I haven’t needed them for Battlenet.
