Authenticator issue

In game LFG finder says I can’t create a group until I authenticate my account. I’ve tried resyncing, removing and re-adding the authenticator, adding a phone number (as per US forums) and none of it works. I still can’t create groups.

Same for me aswell , it says that i have the autenticator active but i still can’t post anything in grups . ( don’t have the phone number added )

guys, someone from my community had same issue. he ran a repair on the game and then told us it works now, worth a try i think

I don’t want the authenticator. Never have never will, now I can’t even list my own keys with additional details or add to the description. This makes zero sense. Why are you pushing your crappy tool that if I ever wanted I would have added years ago. Its a pile af rubbish. The people I know that have been hacked THE MOST have this crap and I don’t want it. Talk about pushing an agenda!

worked for me too.

Out of curiosity, you who fixed the issue with scan and repair (didn’t work for me), do you also have the phone verification enabled? Cause I don’t, could it be that it’s a misunderstanding and blizzard wants not only the authenticator attached but also the phone verification to edit groups?

Indeed, when attached my phone number to account thats finally works. Now can do any tipe of group.

Ohh, thanks for the info, gonna try it soon, never say never cause these issues usually always find a way to persist with me, but hopefully that works.

Edit: it’s that indeed, mystery solved.

the trouble is I cannot add a phone number as the prefix is auto set to UK and I dont have a UK phone number to enter. So what happens to the rest of us around the world ?

The automatically listed prefix for the number is based on the country which the battle.net account is set to. If that doesn’t match your current location it should be updated.

Thanks for the reply. Even though I have updated my country and added my number its still not working.

Just btw I think its complete BS that you need my number.

They don’t need your number.

Its just that certain features of the game will be restricted otherwise, and you may have problems contacting support if you ever need a callback.

Blizzard have always had my phone number, and I have NEVER received a marketing call of any sort from them, nor any marketing SMS. The only time they have used my number is to send a single sms authentication code once, and once again when I needed a callback.

Blizzard do seem to be one of the more well behaved companies wrt phone numbers.
