When the physical authenticator came out years ago I got one asap. Now I have been told you can not get them any more and you have to do on a mobile phone (I do not have a mobile phone)
Is there one out for the pc yet . If not When?

Smart phones have kind of replaced most things like this now.

Like another person pointed out. You can have a virtual authenticator through an emulator like NOX or other mobile ems. Should work just like normal.

If you are a bit technical minded you can take it apart when the battery runs out and put a new one in.

It should have a CR2032 flat battery in it.

Authenticator question

This is ofc maybe a bit late, but someone might look for this info regardless so i’m posting this as a suppliment. I have a physical authenticator that was on showing the “low batt” error. As i didnt want to go over to using an app i deciced to open the thing and sure enough there were a regular battery that i had some spare of, so i changed it and it still works as earlier. The battery was a flat 3V Sony CR2032, but i recon any of that type will do (mine was not Sony but the same type, CR2032…

You need a device with Android/iOS, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a phone, though tablets and ipod touch don’t come that cheap either. I don’t know if it works on smart watches or other more exotic mobile devices.

I think windows 11 will support native android apps.

So you may be able to install a authenticator on it.

They don’t last forever, mine died years ago and I swapped to the mobile version.

You can no longer get the physical authenticator from most retail outlets so unless you want to risk an eBay purchase.
