The annoying part is, the group finder requires you to do both, download authenticator app and then have some SMS protect device in addition to that(?) instead of -just- using either. So basically I can’t use basic in-game features to list a group for my keystones (as I can’t insert any text in the field, nobody will know if it will be +5 or +15), instead of just having all game features accessible upon what they are supposed to be accessible for: purchasing the game and having game-time.
And if I still want to do my keystone instead of latching on someone elses, I’d have to go around that through guilds, communities, even discords. Because I can’t use a simple in-game feature anymore! “Fun” right? Seems like this game can’t even support itself anymore.
I didn’t have high hopes on Blizzard since BFA, forced villain redemption arcs in SL, all pointless lore retcons, the scandal last summer… but taking away basic access to game features so they can get you do more for doing basic activities in-game, it pretty much seals the deal. Deffo will use the remaining sub I have paid for, but then it’ll be time to look forward.
I play these games for fun and social reasons more than to do more work. And Blizz made their game too much work, not only content-wise but regarding to basic accessibility. I’ve never liked seeing ads for dubious carries and services I don’t use, but currently I’m enduring consequences of their actions. Not fun at all.
Normal players, not 24/7 types that do that for the actuall real money
