Authenticator

Today is a sad day. After 14 years, my physical Authenticator (purchased when they first came out) finally told me it was running low on batteries.

So I have removed it from my account, and downloaded the app on my iPhone and put that on my account.

The entire process was quick and easy, and it was a nice touch that the notification to approve came up on my watch, so I don’t have to scramble around the house trying to remember where I left me phone (probably in the car).

Thank you Blizzard for protecting my account.

R.I.P. Physical Authenticator.

I know your pain as mine did that to me a couple of weeks ago and I am now onto the mobile authenticator.

It was a tried and trusted companion down the years and will forever retain a place on my keyring even if no longer used for it’s original purpose.

Oh yes. It will definitely remain safe and looked after.

And also kept with the Serial and Restore Code from the App, so I know what that scrap of paper is for.

It’s nice to see someone adding an authenticator without whining about it for once.

Tbh, I see most of those people whining about having to get out of their seat to go to the toilet…

Well to be fair, the toilet is where my mobile is usually

Why not change batteries ?

What a sad day to gnominity.

Get one of these badbois and put it on bypass… forever!

I’ve got one too, dreading the day the battery will die but I always hoped somehow you could pry it open and replace the battery. A quick Google search tells me this apparently isn’t possible.

/sadface

edit: it seems that if can make your way through the casing, which is really hard, you cán replace the battery.

Nice video.

Just goes to show how serious Blizzard takes their security, by making it impossible to get into.
