Auto-cancel shapeshift-form when left or rightclicking friendly npcs

Hey everyone,

i feel like i’m crazy. So as topic says, everytime i’m in cat or bearform and i click on a npc even from far away i auto shift to caster form. i disabled all addons to make sure its something build in somewhere and this still occurs. i looked up options but didnt find anything which could cause the issue. anyone had the same problem??

pls i need to get back in control over my character.

cheers for any help

Sorry, I misunderstood your post. That is weird, I dunno what’s going on.

Not sure if im understanding you correctly but you can’t talk to npc’s or interact with objects while shapeshifted in classic.

Or are you talking about enemy mobs as well?

Im talking about friendly npcs i shift out of form when i click on them. doesnt matter about range or not.

@Loak see this is the weird part. It’s making him shift out of shapeshift from a great distance. Idk, maybe Blizz needs to tune it so you don’t drop out of shapeshift unless you are within 10 yards or whatever the actual NPC interaction distance limit is.

I tried this out earlier on my Druid in Bear Form and didn’t have this issue… Strange. I don’t have any addons installed BTW so maybe an installed addon is affecting you, irrespective of it being disabled? :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

well i reinstalled everything without addons and all. on left click it doesnt remove my form but on rightclick it still does. there is a message saying “you need to be closer to interact with this unit”

is this normal?

It could have something to do with your game settings or console settings.
Apparently there is a setting called autoUnshift which regulates this. It might have something to do with your WTF folder, which is located in the _classic_era_ folder of your game files.

I’m not sure though. Personally I would first search thoroughly in the game settings ingame for something related to auto unshifting or dismounting.
If that doesn’t work, I’d try resetting all game settings to default and seeing if the issue persists. If the issue persists, I would completely close the game, delete the WTF folder and start it up again, then login and try again. The WTF folder is safe to delete, but it does remove all of your keybinds, graphics settings and other settings.

If that doesn’t work, I’d check the WoW Classic support website.
