AWC bans 10chars

I mean who would ever thought a private discussion would get publicly published?

Even though I speak in my main language in german I still use it sometimes with my friends but just for jokes private. But yet neither of me or them is racist. It’s a word without real meaning. It has meaning in publicity, but if you talk close to someone you know no one cares really.

If these both knew they were secretly recorded they wouldn’t say it either. It’s a dick move from blizzard either way to be political correct as possible without trying to understand context.

Well as pro you probably also have to look now how you talk with people in your private time.

I think it’s because someone posted it on the us forum and on us people are upset because of what is going on.

But I agree with you, alot of people I see on stream or play with sometimes just throw an insult but it’s more for the frustration at a X moment instead of against the player.

They are manipulating ladder play for years, making literally 6 figures doing it, but when it all falls apart, they make themselves look like the victims on Twitter.

I’ve seen screen shots of Loony and Zeepeye win trading too. Those players are the disgusting ones (all win traders), the actively damage the PvP ladder and break ToS but don’t get any punishment for it.

People said that almost everyone from ladder did wintrades, but punished got only fews. Actually that typical big company move. If they banned all no1 will play their AWC and other competetive games.

what is a private stream? how did people record those streams if they are private ? anyways i think they can say whatever they want in private, the most important as a pro player is your public image if they said this on twitter they should be banned but i dont think he hates black ppl he just said it for fun in fact his opponents werent even black xd

anyways what i noticed is that people trying to “expose” others peoples privacy to make them banned/canceled are often the worst ppl that exist on earth themselves

Because it is easier to curse in another language than your own, it doesn’t have the same emotional meaning to it. I know I’m more liberal when cursing in English than in Swedish or Finnish. Granted, when angry or annoyed those barriers drop easier as well.

So yeah, guessing those words doesn’t really feel that impactful for them since it’s in English, and of course it’s private conversation and they are frustrated on top of that.

So yeah, sounds ugly, but at the same time I understand that it doesn’t have to have some deeper meaning to it.
Which is also why I feel it’s unfair that they might get a harder punishment than the people that have been wintrading, and doing that for years. If those videos have been leaked by the wintraders on top of it all it just makes things worse.

It kind of reminds me of the DDR. Watch what you say or fear the Plumpsack.

Btw, it took me a scary amount of time to realized that it’s not “AWC banned 10 characters” but the 10chars just being there because forum system.

Yeah I wonder how it actually got leaked.

The problem is the word DOES have meaning, to a hell of a lot of people who hear in their lives or have been racially abused. The fact we are fortunate enough not to experience it just makes it easy for us to throw words around without assigning any meaning to them.

Since I live in the UK where English is obviously the main language, I have only ever heard these words used to racially insult someone or when someone was singing lyrics to a song containing the word. That’s it… You don’t just randomly throw these words around. There’s quite a few words people just toss around on the Internet I feel that actually have insulting meanings - even words like ape or monkey. People use them to mean “dumb” - yeah in the real world I’ve never heard anyone use them that way either.

Anyway I guess that’s the issue, people throw words around without considering the meaning or offensive. Probably easier when it isn’t your mother tongue but then the main issue here (to hit on what Crows said) is unfortunately for Swapxy and Raiku, these aren’t swear words, they’re racial slurs which aren’t the same thing.

Hopefully they get a similar ban to loony and are given another chance. Hopefully all the win traders also get banned but well, I cant see either happening.

Edit: Lol bloodlock - sorry, it was late and I just didn’t care about the title when it complained about the char limit

The fact that the wintraders have not been banned and had their accounts deleted, but people having a gamer moment are, genuinely pisses me off.

Like, obv I can’t condone the way they speak in the clips, and some measures are warranted, but Blizzard doing absolutely nothing to get rid of ppl wintrading is just absurd, even if that ends up killing AWC.

Is it wrong to use these words as slang/inside joke if its not directed at black person without intent to bully someone in private conversation tho? Theyre actually not insilting anyone.

What does plumpsack mean in that context?

Calling people the n-word is a gamer moment now? Classy. The amount of people making all kinds of excuses regarding such behaviour is quite telling.

No one is saying it’s right, but in EU atleast it’s very commonly used without ill meaning / racist meaning behind it. As an example, everytime my friend greets me he says “Yoo, n-word”

Also it’s clearly hypocritcal to call XSET out on the use of the word, when there is even clips flowing around of Wildcard doing it themselves for example : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UwO-2qGYjw

Even for gold boost ruin the game

I obviously didn’t want to actually say what was being said, and like I said, some repercussions are absolutely justified, but I do not appreciate that people who completely demolish the integrity of competitive play in the game can just wield in revenge, while getting away with their actions.

Not a fan of cheating, and people who feed into the culture of cheating.

Also a believer in allowing people the space to grow, and I do think that an ‘indefinite’ ban, if there’s no chance for appeal at a later date, is overboard.
I do think that people who are essentially public personas need to mind their language, and while in this case I do believe in Raiku’s sincerity with showing remorse about it, at least some sanctions are in order.

I always imagined that the whole phrase “heated gamer moment” is a meme that refers specifically to people spouting slurs in anger, with no real regard to the weight those words might have. My bad if it comes across as making light of them, I guess.

It is a Synonym for an informant who denounces people. It’s a communist thing.

ye but draex is a gold booster so you wont hear him talk about it

The fact that your entire career can get ruined by leaked PRIVATE chats and conversations is batsh*t crazy. We live in the craziest times. Unreal.
