I’m with Wwhelp here, repercussions are fine, but indefinitely banned is too hard. That’s just cancel culture and that’s a horrendous phenomenon, and no, it not just something that can affect famous people.
And the risk of numerous wintraders getting away with an easier punishment is an insult.
But yeah, requires you two be able to keep more two thoughts in your head and that can be too hard for some.

I think I can see Wwhelp’s point here about giving people chances. But I also think that a ban was justified. Given the fact how many people seem to think such language is perfectly ok, I hope they will learn that it really isn’t. It’s not really cancel culture, actions have consequences.
The wintraders are scumbags who should be removed and permabanned.

I mean yeah, like I said, at least some action is warranted, even if the convo was private, as an “e-athlete”, you are essentially a public persona, and this kind of stuff doesn’t fly as one, even if said “in confidence”.
However, I do firmly believe in punitive systems overall to be a tool for teaching and growing people, and that growth cannot come if people are forever condemned. If we were to just remove people from society as soon as they do something morally questionable or even downright wrong, there wouldn’t be anyone left. And personal growth is something that adults should aspire to just as much as children.
I would probably doubt the sincerity of someone who’s demonstrably proper racist a whole lot more, but I don’t think that using racist lingo automatically makes you racist.

Yes it is wrong and you should re-evaluate why you say them or think its okay if using racist slurs is some kind of joke. it doesn’t matter that they aren’t insulting anyone directly, its what the words mean/represent.
Those words are not even slang… at best maybe people could argue they grew up hearing them in songs or something but that’s probably more just ignorance. Maybe if you were close friends with someone of a certain race or ethnicity and you jokingly used it but well, depends on your friend I guess

Well i would argue same words have different meaning (well not rly different but rather people dont care that much/dont get offended or idk how to say it - maybe weight?). For example in region where I live everyone loves dark humor/racist jokes/jokes based on religion or w/e. Should i rly feel bad cos closest person who gets insulted by my jokes lives 1000 miles (not literally) away? Why should i re-evaluate my jokes if theres noone offended by them? Obviously if there was someone who would be listening to me making up jokes who could be offended by them its wrong.
