Awesome server

Gotta say it.
The community here is amazing and seeing random people sitting down or taking a walk in a park adds so much to the immersion.

I’m a bit scared to join in on a rp conversation, don’t want to make mistakes but maybe soon!

Keep it up!

Nothing to be afraid of!
Everyone’s gotta start somewhere, simple weathertalk or asking for directions is all you need to start off.

You’ll find most people won’t make a fuss out of you being new, and if they do, they’re not worth interacting with anyways. Best suggestion is to just try it out!

brother, i was in your boots back in 2016. You just gotta really immerse yourself in the setting and let loose! You’ll do fine! And welcome to AD!

Don’t worry about this at all. Any RPer worth their salt will try and include new people + not care about mistakes

In my opinoin, the biggest mistake one can make, is refusing to see and learn from the little ones, so don’t worry so much about it, grammar errors? I have those plenty and no one pushes me away for it. Not sure how to approach? Just say you have a question or something.

RP community’s not going anywhere, friend. We’ll be here when you’re ready to take the leap.

Of course, the sooner you do that, the sooner you can get involved and wonder why it took you so long.

Everyone said it above. You’re more than welcome and everyone starts somewhere, and most would like to help newer RPers as well. Should you need anything specific, you can poke me on discord. Allennicus#8393
On a very unrelated note… I like your transmog.

If I may suggest OP, install TRP so’s you can see people’s notes. A lot of folks will have something like ‘open to walk up’ or ‘always up for RP’, so you can feel a bit safer about joining in a conversation with them

Not to mention it’s pretty fun to take a look at peoples profiles when you pass them by.

Unless you pass them by in Goldshire…

Thank you

Also thanks to everyone! I’ve done some rp but very casually.

Everyone has been new to RP at one point or another. It is a hobby from which you can get a lot of fun out of and even meet new people you would have never met otherwise. As others have already said, most people on AD are more than welcoming to new RPers and more than happy to teach, guide and answer any questions.

Hope you have a good time on the Realm!

People are very friendly with new role-players. May I suggest (if you haven’t) that you download an addon for role-playing called TotalRP? It will open up a whole new world. You will have access to characters’ descriptions and a lot of player-made stuff! You can also write in your TRP profile that you’re new to role-play so that people will be sympathetic at first glance.

My suggestion would be to find a friend or a guild to hang around with. Having someone that role-plays alongside you and supports you can be a great boost to your own confidence, aswell as offer you the chance to build a narrative for your character.

I have it and I use it, I wrote some story about me

Welcome! That’s a roleplay server for you! Have fun and don’t be afraid to interact with others. We all have to start somewhere!

You are officially a roleplayer now.

What do you mean by that exactly? I mean, nothing wrong with someone wanting to help out a new player? Whether IC or OOC.

Being nice and helpful should be something we all do, why would you refuse to help a new guy learning the ropes? That won’t paint a good picture of anyone and I rather not being friends with someone like that.
