One of my girls just made level 50 and got her Heart of Azeroth necklace. She also got the Mail of Champions. Her Heirloom chest piece is an item level of 148. The Azerite chest piece is at level 58. The highest piece of Azerite gear I’ve ever seen is 116, whereas Heirloom gear scales up to level 329.
Do the Azerite buffs outweigh the Heirloom’s higher enhancements and attributes? I have been wearing just the Heart of Azeroth. In order to do Azerite quests and collect Azerite just for the sake of collecting it.
Most of the online discussions I have seen on this subject are from 2019 and way out of date.
I mean if you’re leveling you use heirlooms for ease of not worrying about armour etc… I’d find it hard to believe they were that much stronger AND worth the effort to swap out etc!
The Azerite gear is pretty just a BFA item, which was never intended to be used beyond that expansion. So when you reach a certain level, then that’s something your girls may want to consider changed to the next upgradeable item, as they’ll find themselves being underpowered when doing the next set of game content.
The Azerite stuff is mainly used nowadays for timewalking, but since timewalking is already pretty easy as it is, it just means you can complete it faster, you don’t really need it to cheese anything.
Exactly so it takes you right up to getting max level armour which is kinda thrown at you through campaign etc at decent enough levels. Sure you can buy ‘cheap’ blues/greens if world contents difficult upon dinging 70 ! So my answer is no azerite is not worth the effort!
It is basically useless at this point but the HoA itself offers some interesting spells and is required for certain questlines. If you are just levelling forget the whole thing, if you are really experiencing that expansion then worth doing but don’t farm azerite because there is later a quest after Nazjatar introduction which will essentially boost your power to level 50.
