Dunno am I missing something here or am I the only one who thinks it’s not a good idea. Why people are happy about it? It’s a lazy attempt to fix a fundamentally broken and boring system.
Just think of what this might do:
At start of BFA we couldn’t trade Azerite Armor. Now we can because people asked for it a lot but this Azerite Impurity will make people unwilling to give away their Azerite Armors even if they don’t need them. They will want to scrap/disenchant it instead of giving to some random person who does need it.
Will Azerite Impurity reset when raid comes out or will it not? Should we farm it and hoard it for the next month? Many people will make a mistake here not knowing what is going to happen.
You might end up buying a specific expensive Azerite Armor that gets nerfed a week later and just waste your Azerite Impurities which will be really frustrating experience.
Trying to farm Azerite Impurity seems really annoying because of RNG drops. Some people can get 10 Azerite Armor pieces to scrap from doing stuff and others get nothing whatsoever while doing the same things. Like today I was doing Warfront Rares. My friend got like 5 pieces of Azerite Armor and I got zero.
I dunno, to me it’s a poor idea. Valor Points system would be way better currency to buy Azerite Armor.
On point 2 - I wonder if I had horded old stuff and not scrapped could I get credit for it after patch?
On point 3 - I’m not spending until the new raid drops
On point 4 - RNG is annoying but that is they way they have taken this xpac - at least now there is a way to buy a key piece that may not drop to due to RNG.
not really worried, most valuable azerite comes from mythic raiding, and it wont drop from chests any longers, aside from that all i can think of is HC raid and ill be doing even that with guilds so yeah.
i forgot how this will work but i think only azerite after dazar alor unlcoks counts.
yeah that’d blow so hopefully balance team will do their job for once
you dont farm it, entire idea is if you were unlucky you can still get the piece you want.
With this currency change, M+ is gonna be the most reliable way to obtain AA pieces. Which means that even more people gonna try to go for those +10 keys and even more people gonna fail.
Eexpect a rise in those “I hate rio” threads and also a rise in in-game boosting.
It will depend on how the system works, I doubt that deleting a heroic chest is going to equal a new heroic shoulder from a vendor?
So for instance lets say an LFR piece gives 1 azerite token, a normal raid piece 3, heroic 6 and mythic 10.
Well your raiding progression mythic in world/contry/server first race and a new azerite piece costs 20 vendor tokens, you are raid locked to what you can kill on the other raids that week and you have 19 tokens. You need one more token, of course it will be expected of you to go into LFR and try and get it to gain advantage, otherwise your getting benched.
They should have just brought back proper old style raid tokens. On those figures you would have to get the wrong 385 piece 19.28 times in order to buy the one you wanted. Statistically you probably won’t need it by the time you could buy it.
So just like profession gear and reputation gear it is like chasing rainbows.
but it will allow blizzard to say " you asked for it, but it didnt work out, next time trust us"
they never gave it a true shot, and with the values being way out of sync with what you get when you scrap it, by the time you can afford what you want…you don’t need it as above poster stated.
Another system dead in the water without a proper tweak
In a friendly community this wont be a problem, with randoms who cares.
It seems that only items after 8.1 will drop this (now I have to disenchant bank full of azerita trash)
Definitely true, but this is problem of azerite system and exists even now. In the opening weeks I threw away tons of gear just so it can be buffed next week or the item I am using nerfed … Simple advice is to wait until big content is up.
Not a difference to how it is now, at least it removes that need for you to farm only single dungeon. With that vendor anything you do is slowly moving you towards new items.
Biggest problem I see so far is how much you drop and how much these items cost.
With these prices you will be back either to randoms or you will have a long waiting before you can buy something useful …
And the fact that this system makes no sense to be released before second half of 8.1 in january, because everything you get now will become useless the moment 2nd season and 5th ring hits … seriously this patch notpatch is such bs …
