I just started playing a bit of retail again, and was testing out my SPriest and and the rotation based on the azerite traits, in particular I was testing Thought Harverster.
I was wondering wether the azerite trait system will remain in the next expansion such as it is today where you have to pick and use a number of traits, IMO it is such a stupid system, you got talents and then you got this, why can’t they all be talent trees… And the Heart of Azeroth and another two dozen “trinkets” hidden in there, is it not like having a couple of extra trinkets?
They need to move away from spells/abilities on artifacts or necklace etc and put them back in the bloody spell book where they belong. each expansion feels like we’re taking 4 steps back in terms of abilities and feel a hell of a lot weaker than we should do.
There’s not functional difference if they were talents. you just click somewhere else.
Azerite armor will be gone but I suspect we’ll see another alternative advancement system at level cap in 9.0, maybe based on the essence system (i.e. glyphs 2.0)
I’d prefer not having to rely on getting lucky to compete with people of the same spec. My fire mage is about 10k dps behind our other fire mage because he has more blaster master traits than me.
I don’t see much difference between getting a trait that might not be your favorite and getting a crit/versa item when you want haste/mastery.
And sure, in fringe cases, some traits might be significantly better than others but let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Noooo. Hopefully it will be as good again as it was in Legion.
Right now it’s pretty useless aside from the little rep boost missions and the 5k gold island mission.
As for Azerite, I hope it goes and never comes back.
