So it seems Azeroth might awaken at the end of Shadowlands and she is a Dragon ushering in the new expansion at the Dragon isles. Saw a video about it on youbube with Asmongold about a Dev leak. That would be a cool idea for an expansion.

The leak is not actually from Asmongold though. He is just talking about it in a youtube video. The actual ââLeakââ is from a forum post on MMO champion.

Given the fact that much (especially characters created in the earlier timeline of wowâs story) is copied or very very hard inspiried by lovecrafts Cthulhu myth, Azatoth⊠im sorry, Azeroth probably is the beginning (creator) and the End of all things. Her awakening would then end existence and there for the game (or maybe it will reset the cosmos, dunno). We will probably find out that there is some force thats doomed to keep here asleep (maybe amanthul and the fog around her)
So the whole plottwist will be, that we and the Titans try to not wake her up, rather than to wake her up
I could be completely wrong ofc, but the more i Think of the Storyline especially of Legion, bfa and sl, the more i think its that way
- sargeras wants to stop the void he thinks will conquer our universe - so he wants to stab/ awake her to stop all this. Meanwhile the deamons he commands dont knkw any of this
- the ogâs talking about awakening smthng (her?), maybe to mix the cards again, for the voidlords actually cant rly enter our universe the way things are. Its a bait that theyâre talking about them being able to open the path for their Masters in a direct way (maybe to make other forces want to awaken azeroth)
- the jaylor wants to rewrite reality for whatever reason. It may even be that he is actually a puppet for the void
- the Titans dont, bcs this may be a timeline where they actually have the void under control, so they keep every harm of here
Opinions, thoughts?
Reshaping the world is a good idea, but itâs not enough, to make WoWâs lore interesting again they should downgrade our characters from âgodsâ to common soldiers/heroes and fight something a bit real.
Like if you take the pre Cata lore, it all made sense, it was all fantasy but kinda real, believable. Now its just ridiculous and Azeroth becoming a dragon wonât help that.
I donât think its real. My biggest red flag is the Black Dragon playable race. I mean what would be the point of people rolling anything other than a Black Dragon if they could essentially look like any other race, have bonus customizations and have a travel form, yes if you want a DH, DK or monk you need to roll something else but for the original 9 classes its pretty much a no brainer.
The other thing is the lore is very contradictory, but I am not putting it past Blizzard to retcon the F out everything again, so Iâm putting this as plausible.
Overall the leak consists of very over ambitious things like the evolving world, which I donât think Blizzard could pull off.

But the Black dragon thing would be the same thing as a shape shifting worgen. So when you enter combat or anything youâd still be whatver dragonkin form they come up with. Its not like you can choose any race you have. With the option to be the new playable race or not when playing. Its more the other way around. If I am making sense here? xD
It would be the same as why not every Human player arenât already playing Worgen too.
Some people just wanna play Human without turning into a wherewolf everytime they enter combat.
If this is real I imagine the same thing would apply for this new race as well.
If this really is our new playable race. I canât imagine weâd get to play literall four legged dragons also. It would propably be a new never before seen humanoid scalie dragon of some kind. Like Argonians from Eso or something

You will use the normal race model for 90% of the time and the dragon form for traveling.

Id prefer if that sword actually cut the world seed and azeroths power sent a wave of energy across the realms, reawakening old threats from every expansion and realms, in what would be known as the Worlds of Warcraft.
The energy reignited Volcanoes and and swelled the seas, raising new lands, rebirthing Elementals, a slumbering OLD GOD, exposing the opposite side of the world, The energy across the realms got the attention of the Void lords who set there gaze on azeroth once more, the Legion in a last ditch effort to use the sword to bring back there master do one last hail mary attempt at seizing it.
The time Dragons come under seige as its now realized that what goes in can come out and we have a new raid against or mythic dungeons and battle grounds to stop the scourge or a new lich king being brought back. (imagine every threat possible bearing down on azeroth, to either corrupt kill of subjugate it.)
Azeroth the world seed is at the brink of death and it takes teh full might of all shadowlands to hold back these new threats as they try to awaken her and unite the dragons, shadowlands, dreanor, Naaru.
A true war against the dark and light.
But hey thats where id take it, not some end of expansion cinematic 8/9 campaign quest of one the most anticipated events in wow. it needs its own expansion with all the tension and emotional investment imo.
The word âleakâ kinda narrowed it down, itâs not true.
That being said, the 2 âleaksâ look so credible that I almost believed them upon readinâ black drake playable race.
In before we need to collect a new artifact resource, the ̶a̶z̶e̶r̶i̶t̶e̶ dragonite, I can already hear MagniâŠ

the artifact for this expansion will be the legendary off hand of power and if you canât use a off-hand well sucks to be you
There, that should be more in line with the dragon theme 
Why would Azeroth suddenly be a dragon⊠we know she is a Titan.
Then again it wouldnât surprise me if they suddenly retcon this and change it into something stupid. Much like how lore is being changed for Zovaal⊠instead of you know, creating something new.
At first impression. I thought they where taking from Aurene from Guild wars 2 with this approach. Making Azerothâs titan a Dragon. I was kinda hyped at first but yeah⊠Canât deny that making an entire new race around just a travel form is enough to give this ââleakââ a fake stamp.
