Azeroth is Earth

Azeroth is an anagram of Earth Oz.

One of the definitions of Oz is a fantasy realm/place.

Constant, and I mean constant references to Earth ingame, everywhere. The soil and planet body itself often being referred to as Earth.

Does this have any meaning behind it or just another one of Blizzard’s jokes?

Azeroth name was taken from Lovecraft by the looks of it,

Also Earth is one of four primal element which are Earth, Fire, Water and Air. So when they referring to Earth, It’s as in the element Earth, which is what makes up all continents.

Not sure how you think it’s a joke played by blizzard but i do think you’re trying to make something very simple into something complex as if you’ve just discovered it.

Well that’s kind of why I posted here, to get other people’s thoughts, because to me it is new? I just thought it was kind of an interesting coincidence that’s all :man_shrugging:

Yes she’s most likely based out of Azathoth from the Lovecraftian Universe.
The Ruler of the Outer Gods.
The old gods are based out of the Outer Gods.

And if this is true, then well we are in the Deep Sh!t xD, would make sense tho as Azeroth attracts way to many threats.

See it as you wish, but i don’t think Azeroth is this Good-ish titan which everyone and Especially Magni makes her look like.

Azathoth is sleeping Eternally, and keeps being asleep by Followers of Azathoth.

Blizzard could have twisted this some, and made it so that the Emerald Dream and the Emerald Nightmare keeps Azeroth in Slumber " Eternally "

Creatures of the Titans made the Emerald Dream, so that itself was most likely placed so that Azeroth never would wake up.
