Azshara, arcane mages and frost mages

My apologies for bothering and my gratitude for answering!

My character Marivella is a Void elf who has always been very beautiful, seductive , i’ve always imagined her voice like Laura Post’s who ended up being Azshara’s voice actress haha , and very profficient with the arcane. Thus, much of her story and goals are related to the distrust of many peers of hers, especially more recently , as they say she is basically a junior Azshara.

She is nothing like Azshara inside but she has many similiarities with the fallen queen and thus comes my dillema: should I put her as an arcane mage or as a frost mage knowing that the way she fights and the spells she employs are very similar to Azshara’s?

I know Azshara uses many abilities during her boss fight: arcane orbs, arcane missiles, arcane bursts… but we’ve also seen her use water and lightning abilities - which are more inclined towards FROST mage (which we’ve also seen frequently used by most Naga).

Gameplay wise I enjoy both so my decision maker will be the one more similar to Azshara.

Which do you think I should go for?

I would argue arcane. Partly because, from a purists view, arcane magic is raw, unrefined, pure OG magic. Frost and Flame magic is simply taking arcane and using it to shape the elements to your will. That and most of Azshara’s greatest feats have been achieved via what appears to be Arcane magic.

That forcefield that held back the ocean in her Warbringers video? That sure as hell weren’t frost spec.

Arcane mages are the guys who go “Why are you so focused on making things hot or cold? We have the power of the universe at our fingertips.”

Fire and Frost mages answer “Because it’s really good for killing things, and we’ve got a lot of things to kill. Plus, it’s kinda fun.”

If you want to be like Azshara, be an Arcane mage. They’re the really good ones.
