I keep wondering why Blizzard gave us Azsuna portal in Orgrimmar’s portal room. Does anyone know the answer or have any idea why they did it?
To differentiate between Dalaran (old) and Dalaran (new) would be my best guess. So one goes to Aszuna and the other goes to Crystalsong Forest.
They want you to spend more time in game, that’s all. Just like you get dismounted when you got dazed.
One of my alts have had unclaimed court of farondis emissary cache ever since Legion and i haven’t bothered to fly there to pick it up. I think this has started to really bug Blizzard, seeing that mark on the end of the repuation bar not disappearing and me not picking that juicy reward crate up. After tension has been building in office for long time now, someone broke down and made me a portal straight to the reputation dude so i will go pick it up. That’s my theory.
(Didn’t still go pick it up, too long way to run up the mage tower ramp to the portal room, waiting them to move it on first floor)
I’d say due to the hearthstone, maybe.

The portal to aszuna might be the same reason why there were seemingly random portals in dalaran legion. I assume we will have to go to aszuna when we start dealing with the naga more for some questline
also like another guy said, we already have an extra hearthstone to dalaran. so having another portal going there would be kind of pointless
we already had a portal to dalaran in SW keep, they just moved it to portal room and changed it to azsuna
Yeah, although I would have done it the other way around - a portal to Crystalsong Forest (or the Argent Tournament, or to an ally/horde base in Northrend) instead of the current old Dalaran portal and then a portal to new Dalaran instead of Aszuna.
You have a hearthstone to Dalaran in Legion, a portal to it would have redundant.
The Azsuna one offers a location closer to anything in the expansion not called the Broken Shore and Argus.
I think Shal’aran would be a much better location as it’s pretty much right in the middle of the Broken Isles. They could put the portal in the ruins just above the hub and have it available to everyone, regardless whether they’ve done the Suramar introduction or not.
