Back after seven years (maybe) & wondering about a few things

Maybe being level 17 on the other char is enough already?

I did Exiles Reach again and am on my way to Stormwind. Let’s see if I can avoid messing up this time.

BTW, this new char is a monk, another class I’ve never played. Quite powerful, isn’t it? There was a quest by the road that I think I didn’t find with the previous char, something about killing a huge bear, and it said “for 3 players”. Was no trouble at all solo. :open_mouth:

Good for you!

I never got my head around Monk, though I can see it is a very capable class, and Earth Wind and Fire and Touch of Karma are both great fun. Three classes I just can’t do - Priest, Shaman, Monk.

If I can help at all, do please let me know.

Funny! These were exactly the last three classes I tried, precisely in this order. After a druid, warrior, mage, and hunter (of which only the mage and the druid got anywhere, I abandoned the others at some point), I boosted a discipline priest to 90 in MoP. She was a hell of a raid healer, though all in all I still prefered my resto druid in this role. And now on coming back I tried a shaman and monk. So far I haven’t much warmed to the shaman, she seems much like a mage/druid mix, and I haven’t yet figured out when and where to place those blasted totems. The monk, however, could be fun. :upside_down_face: Packs a punch and has a decent self-healing spell. I just can’t figure out whether it’s meant to be a ranged or melee class …

Well, I got to “Get Your Bearings”, not without unexpected difficulty mind you! For since I had seen all this just a few days ago, I cancelled all those lengthy videos. Should work, shouldn’t it? Well, didn’t at the end of “Out Like Flynn”, because when I cancelled the video after we took off in the boat, it left me stranded on the water out in the middle of nowhere with these two guys, Flynn and Taelia, and a boat that wouldn’t move and that I couldn’t leave either. All I could do is wait until I died of out on the blue water fatigue, do a corpse run back to the boat location, and try to swim to shore, quite a way, and I died again in the process. Finally landed on the wrong side of the island and had to ride all the way back into Boralus! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I think I’ll continue this after a good rest in an inn … before I mess up again. :astonished:

Well, I did the quest line exactly as described, up to and including “A Nation Divided”, and the scouting map has become clickable, I could start exactly one new quest line from there, which by the by seems to be the one I already did on the other char. No Chromie quest though. :frowning:

And just to be sure, went to Stormwind to check–Chromie still doesn’t talk to me.

Guess this just isn’t meant to work. :frowning:

On a whim I picked up “The Mission”, even though it sounded so familiar, and realized to late that it’s familiar because it’s the opening quest for the Jade Forest story line in Pandaria. Wonder why I would be able to quest in Pandaria but no other expansion? Anyway, it seems now I’m stuck on that continent, and I’ve already done every last quest here seven years ago. :frowning:

Turns out I found a portal back to Stormwind right where I was sitting while writing the above. So now back in Boralus, or rather outside resigning myself to questing in this vicinity … if I stick around. :open_mouth: Well, at least I went out in a different direction this time. And solo’ed (sp?) another quest suggested for 3 players. This death kick thing on the monk is really something. Two big bad guys, and one just dropped dead 3 s into the fight. :stuck_out_tongue:
