Back to Azeroth

Well, the first thing they said is the theme and idea of Dragonflight was “return to Azeroth”. Fans wanted an expansion that feels like… well, like Warcraft again and Blizzard delivered.

The problem will probably be another thing. Since they seem to stick with SL release pattern, 10.x patch every 8 months, 10.x.y patch 4 months after 10.x, so DF will probably inherit “content drought” from SL.

If not more drought…
Shadowlands preview and teasers had quite alot to reveal.
DF so far I’ve only seen talents, riding and a tiny bit off the zone.

This is exactly what the player base wants.

As someone said on this forum before, they don’t give 12 month sub promo just for the sake of it…

U cant please everyone i guess , while classic had something special, i wasnt a big fan of forming groups and traveling for days , then waiting for someone another day and so on and on, and in the end whole forming and traveling took longer than dungeon itself . I like how it is now and the outside world is just a little bonus to me .

But i totaly can understand that some people miss azeroth or imersive world , its just not for me .

i wish they would extend the land and not release a new instance/island every time they release a new addon. Explain that with lore after sargaras smashed the sword the dragon land moved to kalimdor :man_shrugging:

Better 1 big map than go through 10 portals every time

I don’t think they would rework old zones unless there’s the intention to put new content in them so many people play it… Azeroth is too big and it would be far too much work.

It’s been the main complaint of SL and that’s precisely why they’ve made DF like MOP 2.0 and I am happy as a clam.

Guess I’ll see and wait for player feedback when it’s live to decide if I should buy or not. I wanted to finish off the Shadowlands story, get some achievements and prepare for DF but I can’t seem to find motivation to do it. Might create an Alt and do some timewalking or stick with New World.

Your wish is a common one.

I actually want to go further - I want them to start updating the world we have. They keep inventing new places that do exist in lore to be fair, but are also drawn much bigger than originally leading to a situation where… I mean just look at where the EK are compared to the Maelstrom now. :joy:

I was a bit late to the party but I timewalked legion, draenor and played bfa and they felt very good for me, lore and zonewise. But with Shadowlands, it’s just too far gone for my taste. I don’t really want to be a part of an supposedly afterlife angel-devil conflict and be called a hero. Bruh theres literally angels with wings being there for centuries but I somehow manage to get in there and I save the whole Shadowlands. It’s just too much of a foreground plot. Nothing deep.

I would like to go back to a new refreshed azeroth. but as long they put Zidormi like in sillithus giving the possibility to move to the old and decrepit one.
3 days ago i was in Tyr’s hand and even bein cata made it was like 100000000000 years old.

Well… Given we have defeated a literal God, I’m fairly certain people around you would sorta start talking about you as a superhero…

To further add to that, we have defeated two elemental lords. One of them twice.
We fought and survived four Old Gods. We defeated the Burning Legion. We took down the Lich King.
We took on Deathwing, and won against him.
We fought Lei Shen the thunder king, the most powerful Mogu in history and won.
And just now in this expansion we defeated the Jailer.

If similar threats were present in our reality, I am pretty certain if some people stepped up and won against such threats they would be “superheroes” or “heroes”.

So you perhaps start as an adventurer, but as soon as we stepped foot into Molten Core and defeated the elemental fire lord, you sort of became something above a regular adventurer.

Ah! But there’s plenty of players, like myself, for whom the world is the main content. For ‘us’ that instanced content doesn’t mean much (if anything at all).
