I hope blizzard takes notes from emerald dream and zaralek caverns and why it failed.
Elites give you nothing interesting unless you are druid
Seeds aren’t worth doing beyond seeding 5 of them to finish quest.
0 grinds there to keep players busy.
Basically you can get everything passively without even trying by just doing bloom once a week ( coming there 10minutes after event started to get it fast ), seeding 5 seeds ( 15min afk) and after that just returning weekly quest for another rep
You expect people to live in play pretend and look for any activity in achievement log while you don’t even put any interesting rewards in meta achievements, no wonder wow loses sub and just keeps " wow drones "
To make content worth doing, rewards also have to be, at least put more unique rewards in time consuming things like you used to do ages ago.
Calling others mindless bots while asking for artificial incentives to log on every day and watch grass grow or kill trivial mobs is next level hypocrisy.
The biggest difference is those “wow drones” are actually having fun playing the game, some even without the need for ingame rewards.
Blizz already promised a treadmill for casuals in war within called “Delves”, so you have that to look forward to.
I agree, and the Blizz developers know. Which is probably a big reason behind why they are making big changes to open world content, in the next expansion.
Doesn’t help us NOW… but they know, and based on how they handled improvements this expansion, I have a bit of faith regained in their ability to make the game better.
We used to have a lovely Flightstone Dawn on the Infinites heroic grind during Week 1 and it got nerfed to the ground.
It was just flightstones, nobody would be able to grind themselves to myth track with just it
I know you have said you still having fun, but I don’t think you can speak for those other “mindless drones” as you do not know what they really think.
I personally believe ED content is seriously lacking, unfulfilling and very unrewarding for the majority of the player base. It feels like the dev’s have again just rushed to put something out and hope players will occupy themselves with M+ and raiding. Meanwhile SoD seems to have cannibalized all those that already bought and paid for AoTC and KM and the world yet again, before a month is over, feels empty.
I tried to do those daily quests they have in emerald dream, but couple of them are just not worth it.
Theres the one where you’ll be hunting down stealthed mobs with low respawn rate. With everyone trying to complete this i gave up real quick.
Then theres that other one where you have to fill a completion meter, but the progress in it is constantly decaying. The best i could do was around 65% when i ran out of mobs to kill.
Yep, this. I remember the final patches of prev expansions and it gave us so much more outdoor content. Timeless Isle was super fun and the first time they tried a sandbox style endgame zone, Tanaan was OK and I remember spending some time in it, Argus was hella fun and gave us loads to grind for, not to mention a decent story.
Even freaking ZM from SL was better than ED. I literally was done with ED after doing the boring superbloom once, the campaign that lasted 1 hour, and some seeds.
For being a very decent expansion DF dropped the ball with the ‘final patch zone’.
They absolutely are in the early weeks of the patch until you reach an ilvl where the only limiting factors are the higher endgame content crests or you have already upgraded all your gear and you get a brand new item once in a blue moon.
But I understand that the people who can and want to do mid to high keys right away from week 1 will not be “wasting” their flightstones to bump up the ilvl of Adventurer and veteran track gear like I did to bump up various gear to 460. (I also switched mains this season so I had extra catching up)
As soon as I went in 16-18 keystones with my guildies last week, I hit the jackpot on the great vault (480 ilvl myth track tier legs)
Yeah the initial amount of flightstones needed is a bit much. Especially when you are new or reroll. I upgraded 4 items from rifts/dreamsurges 428 to 450 because i rerolled and i for example wanted a weapon. I blasted through my flightstones. Then i started on low keylevels and upgraded veteran and then champion items. And my 1st heroic items from the vault. Flightstones are a thing in the first month or so.
On a more serious note I doubt I’d have hit 20 very quickly just doing a super bloom a week. I wanted to get the goodies so I did the grind. I didn’t really go beyond the first five seeds because those are the ones that give effective rep, but I did do all the WQs. I also found all the treasures, killed all the rares, did some achievements etc.
There are also mounts/toys/pets etc all the usual to be gained. It’s going to take me a considerable amount of time to grind all the items.
