Bad performance

Seriously , anyone here plays with 10/10 quality settings with over 100 fps on silvermoon at 3440p ?

Im so frustated i bought a new pc JUST TO PLAY WOW , 9070xt + 9800x3d and the performance is so bad at silvermoon it feels a 10 year old pc , it stutters alot and goes to 50 fps while flying around the city , mostly on the bank and crafting sides , i know mostly will say to lower my settings but thats the point , this cant be normal!!

in zul aman zone sometimes it drops under 80 fps too , i dont understand this , i spent more than 2500 euros on the pc and just looking someone with similiar specs and plays on ultra wide to know if the problem is me or this is normal.

At 7/7 its not perfect too , just a bit over 110 fps .

The game is running on a very old and patched-too-many-times engine. There is no PC that can achieve the performance you ask for.

It is really bad for the game though. WoW used to be known for being able to be run on a toaster. I enjoy the current expansion a lot, my main gripe by far is the technical state for many people.

No the problem is not you .I have amd 9800x3d and and Radeon 9060xt 16 gb vram with 64 gb system ram on ultrawide 1440p and I was easily hitting 110 fps in silvermoon before this god forsaken recent patch came and it made my PC tank to 40-45 fps .

The first thing I did was cancel my sub which stands expired as of 5 may and unless blizzard fixes the bugs and optimize the game .it will remain expired .

Depending on our definition of toaster, it still can. My previous PC is running WoW at graphic settings 2 at 1920x1080 while maintaining 60fps in non-crowded areas:

  • AMD Ryzen 5 1500X (low-end cpu from 2016, below even the minimum requirements mentioned for Midnight)
  • 16GiB@2133MHz DDR3 RAM
  • AMD Radeon RX560 /w 2GiB VRAM (mid cpu from 2017, doesn’t even have power supply)

Granted, it’s on Win10 (which officially is no longer supported) with as many background Windows stuff blocked from running as I was able to block without causing system instability.

Many I saw and heard players had PC with high graphic card
and WoW still lag like old pc.

No reason thier PC. It was only WoW’s game bad performance.
I dont have worry my pc “bad” since this.

Some advice, just because a CPU is ‘the best for gaming’ doesn’t mean it’s the best for you.

Profile WoW your CPU and I bet you’ll find it’s usually only a couple of cores and no where near 100% utilisation.

When you’re 80fps check how much of a load on your cpu and graphics card.

To be fair what engine isn’t patched many time. Do you think unreal 5 is 100% new code. I doubt it’s more than 10% actual new code.

Indeed, for toaster you need to put it to toaster settings.

The ‘cartoony’ graphics with all the power hungry settings CAN bring the game to a crawl. Places like Silvermoon are bug and have lots of people to render with fancy lighting shadows etc.

A high enough resolution and best of the best quality could even humble a 5090 I bet.

[If someone wants to give me a 5090 I’ll happy prove myself wrong]

some places and some dungeons are just horrible performance. dungeons like Windrunners spire comes to mind.

very noticeable for sensitive gamers like me,
