Bad pvp changes

These PvP changes aren’t good. Please dont try to fix something that isn’t broken

I find them good.

Why is that?

They aren’t good, at all.

It makes it harder for casuals to dab in PvP for fun, makes it extremely difficult (impossible to be fair) for them to acquire PvP gear.

Which results in shrinking the amount of people playing arenas, making it even harder to climb the ladder; driving meta comps up and making less people able to reach the mount and title.

Top players should get the best rewards faster, I completely agree. But not just the best rewards. point blank. If the causals have no incentive to play, it kills the entire arenas. We need the casuals to play arenas

It will still end up like this in S3-S4 though. And just because of the rating requirements, that season didn’t die out or fail.

No. but the way TBC was. S1/S2 had no rating requirements. S3/S4 had rating requirements. Why change that? with the original way we will have best of both worlds. So this change just doesnt make sense. Leave s1 and s2 open and free for all. and then add the rating requirements when they were originally added. no reason to change something that isn’t broken

S4 was the least player season though …

Well yeah, I think this would be the best.

Do BattleGrounds. Get PvP gear. GG.

Weren’t you trying to say “it make it harder to get the best PvP gear” ?
Btw, casual doesn’t mean bad player.

So, only “bad players” can complain about this, not the casuals.

If you were planning to just make a 5v5 team with your guildies for fun and do 10 games each week for PvP gear, that is no longer possible. You have to push hard for rating to gear up now. So if you’re not planning to sweatlord and push rating, there is no reason to do arena at all.

I’ll say this again: TBC originally had NO rating requirements in S1 and S2. TBC had rating requirements in s3/s4. WHY change this? With the original way you will have the best of both world. Seasons with, and without rating requirements. Everyone wins, no one is mad.

Why change that?

Because they do not want casuals / tourists in arena.

The good news is because the pool will be much lower, it will be much harder to get glad or r1. So this change directly catter to e-sport 2k+ players and boosters but put a bit more prestige /carrot for pushers.

That’s not really a good thing mate

I agree with you. But Ion &co do not. They focus on content for the 1%. Now they are just expanding the philosophy to Classic and not just retail anymore.

Oh okay, yeah I guess youre right. I was really confused by this change, because it seems so simple to do it right.

Just leave it as it was; No requirements in s1/s2. Add requirements for s3/s4 as it was originally. Everyone is happy and gets what they want.

Should be easy?

Even if you are not reaching the required rating for the items, you still earn arena points. For what can they be used? Maybe the required rating isn’t even that high/hard to get?

Nope. As is said Battground blue PvP gear.

Blue PvP shoulders without arena rating : https://tbc-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=28617
Best PvP shoulders which require 2200 rating : https://tbc-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=28333

“Omg such a difference, game is ruined, i won’t be able to PvP and have fun” :upside_down_face:

In season 2 you’ll be able to get season 1 gear just by doing battlegrouds.

Here are the season 2 shoulders : https://tbc-twinhead.twinstar.cz/?item=31964

What about gauntlets ? What about reaching 1600 rating which won’t probably be really hard.

Why not just keep it as it was? let s1/s2 be a free for all. in S3/s4 you will have your requirements. Why change that?

In the beginning of TBC so many people will be playing and having fun. Let them do arenas too. And later you will have your requirements so you can show off your skill and outgear lowbies.

Again, how is this change preventing you to have fun in arena ?

Because if youre not planning to push rating, why even play arena? Part of the fun in WoW is getting your gear.

And yes you can make the argument if you want gear then you gotta be good at the game, and atleast have rating. And I hear you.

And you will have that in later patches.

it‘s way more fun to work for something and get rewarded for it instead of getting it automatically after a certain time.
