Bags, crap and how you sort it all?

hey, i have been playing wow for a long time now, 272 days played according to altaholic.
during this time I have accuired a unique set of skills, the hoarding skill… i literally keep everything, my bank is full on a lot of toons, my bags are full… i have trouble looting due to this.

so how do you all sort out the crap in your bags? do you have bank bots? are they worth it? addons? please share!

I used to be like that then someone told me sell all the old stuff - you can always go and farm it again if you need it.

I do have several guilds of my own though (for bank space) for important stuff.

I only keep stuff from the current expac.

I’m happier now

By getting more bag slots

i dont. im usually drowning in trash. :joy:

edit: okey thats not entirely true. i have an addon which sells all my white and grey items so i only have to deal with the more “important stuff”. :smirk: but at least i am not carrying some sort of dog tails and tongues with me around anymore.

Multiple alts and multiple banks.

Every non bound & useless item is sent to an alt

Do you use that ult for selling?

Hard rule: AT LEAST one bag - and not just the 16-slot backpack - MUST be empty every time I set out. (If you are using Onebag-type addon, call it 30 empty slots.)

If the bag is not empty, I go nowhere until I have sorted it.

I have NEVER broken this rule.

Having said that, it’s rare that I’m down to one clear bag.

Anything not in one of my current spec-sets that can go into Void Storage goes into Void Storage.

Anything not Soulbound that I’m not regularly using (like food, flasks, pots) goes to an alt, if I keep it at all. At this stage, I have a banker, and a storer, and a BoA banker. They manage it easily.

If it’s something that is potentially sellable, it goes to my banker, who looks it up on theunderminejournal.com and either tries to auction it or vendors it.

this…
and BFA introduced us to so much new crap to collect with Nazjatar and Mechagon! I never seem to have enough bag spaces, also not helped by things like runes, food, gliders, etc only stacking to 20.

I am a hoarder though…I recently had to spend ages going through my pet tab as I had accumulated half a bag full of pet stones that I hadnt got round to using!

Mostly use my profession toons to sell their stuff and banking alts are mostly there to hold the stuff they may or may not need (got an herb and ench one, a meat and leather one, two ore and element ones and a cloth one)

Bank guilds, crap addon sellers, Undermine journal for ah value, enchanting addon that tells me to disenchant or sell, Altoholic that keeps track of everything. I’m a terrific hoarder and keep all sorts of stuff that might be handy or useless things I have nostalgic feelings for.

This xpac it’s getting harder, so much stuff dropping…

Curiously enough it’s the cooking matts the ones that have been filling my bags. And of course Blizzard’s playful ideas of introducing a miriad new weird items in every patch.

These days I just get 60 food of whatever type I need and leave everything cooking related in my bank. 50 slots ready for crap farming.

I buy bags from AH.
If i run out? Buy more.

I probably should loot mobs but TBH I do not. I think they drop nothing but rubbish.
People have said to me in the past that I am llosing gold by not looting but I have enough gold to do me and dont care about transmog.

I am running with the 16 default bag and 4 30 spaces and still somehow they get crapped up with stuff i dont want.

I wish there was a addon that just picked up the gold and leave the useless crap. I even think green items who others could transmog as utter crap and I don’t loot them.

Give it time - they can put loot pets on the store

I keep my bags in order.

One bag for profession materials, enchants, potions, ect. and stuff that is more valuable. If still fits, which in bfa hasn’t, less valuable materials in it too such as meat, fish.

Less valuable materials are usually in another bag which also has all sort of random stuff that is picked along the way such as essence parts, key parts from, ect. Its usually very full.

Then there is bag for random things that are not materials. Flightmasters whistle, garrison heartstone, legion dalaran heartstone and other such items. In this bag there are also offspec gear, weapons and older gear pieces that I keep in case I need to switch back.

Then there is a bag for “important” stuff. Importance is very flexible concept. In this bag, despite the previous bag, I store good corruption items and right now, for some reason, mechagon crafting materials like batteries, part boxes, ect.

Then the main pack which is always as empty as possible+heartstone.
