Ban appeal

I was told that I could ask the reason why I was suspended for 7 days for “Abusive Chat” out of the blue here since there is no telling when someone will actually do something about it. My E-mail contained absolutely no information as to why I got suspended.

blizzard dosent discuss ban on forums and the only way to appeal it is through tickets.
you also wrote that the email didnt contain any information but still you wrote you got 7 days suspension for “abusive chat” which simply means you wrote something that was against code of conduct.
hope this helps.

They do on the us forums. So why not here?

And no, I couldn’t have written anything against the code of conduct, because I don’t talk to people in-game generally. And when I do am super careful how I word things because I know you can get banned for seemingly no reason. So this is why I am so confused why this happened.

No they don’t. Otherwise give a link to an example.

Also they don’t permit discussion of bans on the forums, because it would break GDPR. Blizzard cannot reveal via a public medium, privileged account information, even if you give them “permission”.

Literally go onto any “ban appeal” or “wrongfully banned” post on the us forums and see for yourself. every one of those has a blue post somewhere in it.

So… You don’t have any valid links. Gotcha.

You can check for yourself, I just don’t have the time to link it for you. It’s easy enough to find.

They all have blue posts here too, but the blue posts all say that you cannot talk about bans in the forums, and can only appeal using the information in the email.
Maybe that’s what the blue posts say in the US too or, more likely as Trovlak said, it’s something to do with GDPR.

Nope, on the US forums they actually discuss it openly with you and provide context as to why the suspension was issued.

If you were suspended, you have plenty of time to provide just one link … if there’s so many of them, and you obviously know of them because you’ve looked, then it shouldn’t take long to link one.

Who told you to ask here? Was that in the email too? What specifically (copy paste) did it say? Perhaps you’ve misunderstood.

Is this a “post wowhead link by accident in /say, get 7d suspension” problem?

I didn’t talk. I was literally afk in elwynn forest for 2 hours watching a stream. I don’t talk to people in this game and I especially don’t use profanity because I’ve heard from so many that this can happen. Hence my surprise and shock when I got force-logged out.

when you get an email saying “abusive chat” that means you wrote something ingame that is against code of conduct so basicly you did write something that is against code of conduct.
furthermore you write that you dont talk to people ingame but then you when you do it you are super carefull which dosent make sense.
either you do write ingame or you dont but according to yourself you do and something you wrote got reported for being against code of conducts.
and no blizzard dosent discuss bans on forums since that would contain sensitive information about you which is why they dont discuss it on forums and they do the same on us forums.

just because you was afk when you got the suspension dosent mean that you got reported at that time but instead happened before that.

its a game you should stay calm and chill… Dont be a toxic next time gl

i agree on that :sunglasses:

Nope, I wrote nothing wrong. I am not toxic to people. That is just not who I am. I don’t know why you’re all trying to instigate some kind of reaction from me, but you won’t get it. I really did nothing wrong.

Anyway, I’m done replying to all of you trolls here and I’ll wait for a blue post to actually let me know what they think I did that was so bad it deserved a 7 day ban.

according to blizzard you did otherwise you wouldnt have got a 7 day suspension and just so you know blizzard do have log files where they can see it and just because you think it didnt write anything wrong dosent mean everyone else think the same.
that you are calling us trolls just shows you did write something ingame that you shouldnt have written.

On the US forums you may not discuss bans, however, the CS team there may educate players in an attempt to improve their behaviour. Most of the times though, it devolves into a locked thread because the OP attempts to armchair lawyer their way out or just straight blames the victim reporting them as I’ve witnessed.

On the EU forums we simply don’t do it. Ban discussions are not allowed at all.
