Ban them from the game already

Looking to pug a normal raid, and 80% of the LFG tool is people selling services not for in game gold either, but for real life money on their “totally safe” site.
It’s been relatively fine in recent years in my experience but I haven’t seen this much trash since Shadowlands.
It can’t be that hard to just log in and remove this ffs.

Blizzard doesn’t care as long as majority of players don’t care enough to make an uproar. They get money from their accounts so they just take a blind eye to the damage it causes. I don’t care what they say, actions speak louder than words.

100% agree

Unfortunately the system works on the basis that the players report and they action based on those reports.

It’s a shame in this day and age they can’t set up some kind of programme to scan and flag.

There’s been some threads made over at the US CS forums about this too and they’ve noticed:

Must search again for an addon.

I remember back in SL there was an addon that blocked the boosts from showing in the finder and you could press a button to send a report. Hope the addon is still out there.

Personally I would just add an algorithm that crams every “WTS” and similar posts with specific language into an own LFG tool section, basically like a “ban pool” like GTA Online uses for Players that are overly aggressive in gameplay (attacking everything on sight, etc.). Let them compete in their own little corner of the tool out of sight from everyone unless you specifically look for it.

I remember when I saw that certain website being spammed in the Group Finder tool. I had a look to see, which country it was registered in/created from, and I was 100% right with my guess.

Of course, the registered home address is 100% fake as it doesn’t require your legal home or business address for a domain registration. But everything is confirmed.

Russia :stuck_out_tongue:

Most of those website/boosting services are registered in one of the 3 following countries:

  • Russia
  • Turkey
  • Iran

If that website is indeed selling services for real money (I’ve not bothered to go onto their website to check, as I have no interest in that), then Blizzard would in essence be violating the US/EU sanctions, put in place by those governments.

But of course I highly expect that to be untrue and there is no real money being used, unless it’s being done behind closed down through other channels. But if you do believe that website is selling services for real money, and they’re doing their advertising for it in World of Warcraft, reach out to your local government official to inform them about this.
