He is the one who claims that addon users are the minority so I guess he sits on data to backup hes claims.
- Well then they should fix the default ui no? Instead of players having to download random zips from the internet?
- Pvp is part of the game, more so in sod, so âI donât careâ is not a valid argument.
- Lets say the raid lead doesnât invite anyone without DBM, which happened to me numerous times, that affects me DIRECTLY. Before you say : well then find another raid! Iâm not here to fix man-made problems, Iâm here to play a game in my free time, which should function properly without external downloads.
- Itâs not about parsing, but about fun and integrity, if the addon looks out for every mechanic in the raid for you, how is that any fun or challenging? Why do you want a dumbed down game?

Very valid and constructed arguments there
I think addons change the mindset of the gaming community and give an advantage to those that use them and as such provoke peer pressure to keep up with those that use them. Itâs a bit like walking and riding a bike. Sure you donât HAVE to buy a bike but if the vast majority of people with a bike are out enjoying themselves and new people to the area are also buying bikes to enjoy the social scene itâs logical that the human mind would also want to socialise with the large crowd that has established itself. Sure, you can go on your walks and still enjoy them but if the biking community tells you to SoD off (pun intended 
) until you get a bike, then itâs only natural that bad feelings derive from this. No one wants to stop anyones enjoyment, they just want to feel included within the social environment. It will always polarise societies views and itâs very similar to Sun Tzu explaining divide and conquer and addons have played their part in doing so. The gaming community is so busy dividing itself because of these easy attained addons and thus easier to obtain loot and this easier/quicker dopamine hits. The community are so fixated on arguing AGAINST each other instead of working together. We see this so much in politics and look at the world stage at the minute⊠canât wait for gaming to follow suit?âŠ. Itâs almost there Imho.

Itâs all well and good to say ban addons but blizzard would then be forced to make the game even easier, as they would then be balancing around people playing without addons.
I wouldnât be against it for SoD but then Iâd like to see them implement the dungeon journal so that people can easily research mechanics.

Not at all, quite the opposite. There lays a possibility that all can enjoy their own style but we must be given the proper space to do so.
People using addons doesnât mean they also like them. I use Bagnon but do I like it? Absolutely not, it breaks every patch, I would much prefer if the default ui would just merge my bags, or had the option to do so.
Of course you are gonna use DBM when the community basically corners you into it.

A huge part of WoWâs success is because of addons, because people are allowed to create their UI exactly how they want it to, demanding the developer to create default UIâs that match every single individual player out there, is simply unrealistic, which make addons such a great thing to have.
However, blizzard failed at one thing, and that is creating a easy way for players to obtain addons without using 3rd party sites/programs.
And some combat addons have taken things way too far, you are complaining about DBM, but that addon is so simple compared to what Weakauras are doing, some of the raid packs for ICC are so insane, and way outside of whats intended that blizzard surely must take action against what it can do.
And it looks like they are taking action against it, by removing the range tracker, that will break a lot of the really advanced functionality from weakauras, and also DBM.

A game wont be able to make everyone happy and what they would like to have in the game, therefor addons are good. You clearly saying you dont like the addon so just stop using it.
If you can do stuff without DBM just dont use it? Does it help out? Sure it does, did ppl make it before DBM? Yeah in the beginning for sure, today retail is made with addons in mind.
Itâs still better than the default ui. Why are you trying to dumb down every argument people make to binary level?
Yea this is not retail tho, itâs sod, a chance to start anew, and if Blizz makes the same mistakes again itâs gonna end up the same way.

Yeah, thats why I named retail had that in mind, clearly Classic dosent, so do you think you need it? If not, dont use it, many of those who even use it dont need it but its just reminding you of stuff.
What exactly sounds dumb in your head? Iâm not the first that thinks you are Dottie, you both disagree with people for the sake of it even when the whole thread agrees on one thing, this one is a prime example here.

Because Blizzard is not responsible for Addons created by 3rd Party Developers using their API. Any type of âAddon Store or Download siteâ hosted by blizzard would require official staff for quality and approval process similar to app stores before any content is available for download.

Alright, lets say you dont like burgers, but you go to a resturant and buy yourself a burger anyway, you dont like it but you gonna eat it anyway, isent that kinda dumb when there is other options? 
I said many, not everyone or majority.
Addons are not going anywhere. And letâs be honest itâs not like PvE on classic is hard enough that youâre at a significant disadvantage playing without addons.
I wouldnât say that on retail but truly you can do really fine on classic without any addons. Unless they make bosses in SoD mythic raid level, which I really highly doubt.

They should do a lot of things, but donât. You canât honestly believe that blizzard will invest the resources necessary to make the default UI intuitive and customizable enough to even reach single addon functionalities.
This line of argument is highly problematic because it assumes you have a right to other peopleâs time.
Why do you want to dictate how other people are playing the game?
If there really are enough of you to represent even a single digit percentage of the classic community, why not make a guild where you can all play with no addons?

Well yea if I have two options, eatings sh*t or eating a burger, Iâm eating the burger, even tho itâs not my favourite.
Making a decent ui is nothing groundbreaking, itâs basic functionality, so yes I would expect a game that we pay monthly fee for to fix that. Itâs not like we are asking for the moon here. Yea they donât care, but we should tell them they should care, thatâs about all we can do.
Iâm not telling anyone how to play, Iâm voicing my opinion on how the game should be, imo it should function properly without addons, and you shouldnât be able to gain advantage through addons, I think thatâs a very reasonable expectation.
