Nah im against banning Addons. The UI is so inconvinient that i need Addons to enjoy the game and the rest i feel are to strong or ruin my fun i just ignore
That is what retail should do. Classic will stay Classic. Bosses right now are designed with add-ons in mind, and mechanics are often things like red AoE on a red floor and a red skybox⊠And thatâs why there are more and more people that want combat addons out and WoW going through a simplification phase / WoW 2.0.

These 1-bit answers are taking a toll on my mental bro. If addons are expected of you by the community, that situation is not up to me now is it?? We are playing an mmo here not a single player. Try raiding on retail without DBM and come back, tell me how it went!
This is a fresh start and Blizzard shouldnât make the same, OBVIOUS mistakes yet again.
Why do you think people LIKE addons just because they use them?

Yeah break DBM and make game degrade into boring tank and spank simulator because majority wonât handle all the mechanics and devs would be forced to cut them out from patch to patch.
They arent breaking DBM, that addon is mostly timers showing when mechanics happen, so the range tracker getting disabled wont do much to that addon.
However, it will break some of the extremely advanced weakauras, like the pay version of fojii, which are basicly playing the game for you.
Going back to simpler mechanics will be a overall difficulty increase when the advanced weakauras are broken.
I donât get it, WoW veterans and Retail players who brag that Vanilla wasnât complicated and players were just bad or casual back then. The Classic rush of 2019 which proved that you can clean MC at just lvl60 without special stuffâŠ
And now if we remove the helper addons that wipe your butt for you, are you afraid that you will no longer be able to successfully clean raids on Classic SoD? And that Blizzard will have to nerf said raid? Are the addons that transform gameplay into huge QTE fun?

- I have NEVER said I expect addons from the community, where did I say that?
- I took retail as a example before if you remember that retail have had addons in mind so retail is different but Classic you should not need addons.
- If we go from your pov, everyone prob hates addons but use them anyway.
And what I said before, stop complaining about using something that is totally UP TO YOU. We are in a classic forum, so what I mean (that you clearly dident understand at this point) you dont need any addons to do anything. Its totally UP TO YOU if you gonna use addons. I hope you get that now

- I donât want to install DBM
Now what is up to me exactly man? Making the choice of uninstalling the game or installing the addon?
And donât come with this bullsh*t that you can make your own raid or look for another one, thatâs not the point. This scenario should not exist.
A good chunk probably does yea, otherwise we wouldnât be having this conversation if everyone loved them as you do.

Are addons that hard for people to set up and use ? i personally can play with or without them doesnât bother me, but i agree with at least 90% of the player base that use addons to further the game play out of their characters during a raiding situation, but Weak Aura donât make you a better player xD, tracking a CD or up time is the same as watching a name plate or your bars lmao, whats the difference ?
if someone could explain to me in detail how having addons makes someone better to someone who doesnât have addon id appreciate it 100%.
again⊠my opinion but classic wow is mostly skill, if you decide to personally not go for addons, and bar watch in a fight etc, that is down to you, but its honestly no difference to having a weakaura on your screen, same goes for boss modes etc, if u wanna wipe 10 times on the first boss because âits so easyâ feel free, addons like Weakauras and dbm are a just there to make you enjoy the game and look at your screen rather than your bars xD

You already answered your own question, its the options you have, you ALWAYS have options and that something I already tried to get you to understand, but you need to have it your way otherwise its no good for you becuase you dont wanna see there is a solution to your problems.
I do like some addons yeah, I like bagnon becuase it does what I want it to do, even if it breaks sometimes its something you need to accept, I also use other addons like move anything (I know I am a bad boy for using that BAD BAD BAD).

If Blizzard ever does something as silly as disable addon functionality outright, Iâll just flood the AH with most used cloth type, one piece at a time, for 1c over vendor price bid 100g buyout. Iâll literally sit there for two hours placing them while listening to a podcast just to prove what a monumentally idiotic idea it was to force players to use their broken, alpha test level of ui from 20 years ago.
Addons are core part of WoW experience. My first ever raid in Molten Core in 2005 had mandatory bigwigs for bosses, mandatory recount and threat meter for dps so we donât sit there for 1min on every boss with thumb up our bum while the tank in full mitigation gear âbuilds up threatâ like in that Onyxia recording. We had a decursive that removed a curse with shortest time remaining from closest person in range with a single button. Healers had an addon that placed downscaled heal of appropriate level on a target with lowest health in the raid with one button. Oh and we were all on paid ventrillo server ofc.
The fact you were a 10 year old kid when you started WoW and didnât know about that stuff until whatever expansion you started seriously raiding in, does not mean it wasnât there, and much stronger than now, from the very start of the game. Wow beta test had addons that moved your char about and were basically bots in all but name.
This is all empty banter anyway, even 2023 Blizzard arenât dumb enough to ban addons. Lol.
Its kinda simple problems you can prob fix within a week and then just enjoy the game like you want ^^
I mean, my biggest beef with this is not even the advantage, itâs the fact that bosses are designed with addons in mind, these addonsâ functionality should be part of the base game, and everyone should be on the same footing.
For example, General Vezaxx is nigh impossible without a threat tracker, I left my wotlk guild over that. Mage pulled aggro 3 times in a row while I begged him to install an addon, then I gave up and left.
There is the other problem that addon timings can be off, and that itself caused my group to wipe numerous times, because addons are not perfect.

And thats the thing. They are not Designed around Addons they are just noot good Designed. RNG, no telegraphing etc. that started in Classic. Omen was the first thing i had to install back in vanilla cause threat needed to be tracked and couldnt otherwise. At this point banning Addons would just end into a bloody Mess. The only possible fix to this is that Blizz would implement some Addons into the standard UI but they wont do it cause this costs Money. Even if banning Addons would force them to implement stuff on their own, how long do you think will this take? We ask in Vanilla for a better way to set up the UI and got the bare minimum 17 Year laterâŠ
No. We dont want something that we use since tbc to be removed now, its like a core functionality of the game UI that is lacking in game and we need to patch it.

Itâs never going to happen. But Iâd love to try a new raid where everyone needs to do their rotation unaided by add-ons and without deadly boss addon.
