Bank preparation for 11.2

Eyyo! Since Void Storage is going away, and we know what usually happens with major stuff being implemented (bugs), what is the best thing to do? What are you guys planning to do?

Nothing, I will play the roulette to see if anything will go missing.

Absolutely nothing. I have nothing I value in any bank. Could not care less. In fact… I should probably take out everything and throw stuff on the AH or vendor it and delete whatever stuff I can’t sell. I just don’t really use my bank with the exception of storing a few warband items for other characters.

If you want to be on the safe side you should put all your items in the bags. I will do since i got alot in there and the chances that blizz f… it up are there.

It is far more likely that we get locked out of our banks for a day or two than we lose anything so if there’s anything in the bank I’ll need right away (like raid mats or crafting mats) I’ll transfer them to my bags beforehand.

Beyond that losing a few easily replacable pet charms or spare parts ain’t the end of the world and as for those old legendries that are stuck in my bank 'cos the game won’t allow me to delete them - if they go missing the devs will be doing me a favour!

That said if there was anything of sentimental value I would for sure move it out too!

I do plan to take a screenshot of my bank tho - the conversion will no doubt completely rearrange the contents - and a record of my current arrangement will make it easier toi recreate them.

Withdrawn ‘important’ things from the bank and keeping them in a characters bags.

Nothing but you could try keeping what you deem important stuff in the mail or spreading it across alts. That isn’t soulbound ofc.

I copied my character over to the PTR to check if anything disappeared from my banks after. I did not create an inventory of my supplies, because most of the items in my bank can be easily recovered, even if lost. And, some I wouldn’t even mind if Blizzard somehow lost them, because I’m not able to delete them, even if I want them to. (Legion artifact weapons, hello!)

What I see right now is that all my Shadowlands reputations disappeared on the PTR. I hope that this is only a PTR thing. Fortunately, I have the 100 rep mount already, so hopefully, that will not be lost. I also have the tabards of the Shadowlands rep in my bank, they just have an error that they require an exalted reputation. If things go south, at least I may have proof that I have done them (+ the achievements).

I really hope that Blizzard will test this patch properly.

I also have a couple of items which says that I have not collected their appearances when I have, otherwise they wouldn’t have been sitting in my void storage.

I think I will put a couple of stuff that I hold dear into my character’s bags before this patch launches, just in case.

I personally took all my gold from the warband bank.
Not sure if i have enough bagspace for the reagent banks all around my alts.

I would genuinely laugh so hard if a repeat of the whole guild banks fiasco were to reoccur.

Already lost 20m when I lost my guild bank, what’s another 20m? :V

take screenshots , make a bank alt , send them to alt, leave in bags

The only prep you need to do is make sure you have all bag slots purchased.
Blizzard will do the rest.

What I have just noticed is that my 7th Legion reputation has reset on Live. Reported it as a bug. I hope they will fix it before housing is coming, since they plan to add furniture retroactively to the game and it would be very bad if affected players had to farm rep again. Reputations are a huge time investment! Fortunately, I have the tabard as proof. Take care of your tabards, people!

I stopped use void storage after Legion since all my alts learned in appearances.

It’s ok remove void storages.

But, single character’s “reagent” bank is remove.
I need clean grab all reagents at character’s inventorys before 6 Aug. And after 11.2 out and I put back reagents in bank.
Since I dont want lost them. Like i heard Guild bank lost items after TWW.

But you do remember about the fiasco with the Guild Banks, right?

I remember my guild’s bank was fine but it took them a week to enable access to the warband bank.

Mine was also fine. But there were quite a lot of cases of Guild Banks with permanently lost items.

Considering the fact that the change now is even more “groundbreaking” since a lot of data is going to be moved and “reworked” (for example the items in the Void Storage will need to be “restructured” into proper items before being moved to the new bank system), and also that Soulbound, Unique and no-longer-dropping items have special rules applied to them, I am certain there will be cases of lost items.

Let’s also not forget the amount of items that may get lost from people who still use old profession bags instead of “all-type”. ones

Yeah, it is.

Unlikely, void storage will be on the character database. We’ve seen (through bugs) they keep those backups for decades.

You never know with blizzard. Now they gonna merge stuff and make new bank tabs, its almost guaranteed failiure.
