This is already the case everywhere except realm forums and I think the customer support ones. You cannot post in, for example, class forums or general discussion without a sub.
They’re supposed to but EU GMs seem to have missed the memo that they can read addon data now and that, since it’s using the game’s process to transfer communication between players, it should be reportable.
TRP even added a report button to make it easier and communicated with Service staff at Blizzard to ensure it could be actioned.

This is my stance on it as well. I myself am not interested in ERP. But if two consenting adults, who know each other better through their guild or whatever, want to fantasise a little through private chat. Who cares? I wont judge.
What I am against though is the ERP hubs, which are unrestricted fetishised versions contradicting what an actual sexual experience should be like.
Often the people here do not care about who’s at the other side of the screen, which gives a high chance that the person is a lying adult male. This is mostly confirmed as a lot of the typical ERP TRP is a typical fantasy for the male gaze, and not how normally a woman would like to present herself. Next to that, like I said, their fantasies are unrestricted and unreal, far distanced from the actual consensual experience. This is why ERPing this way can, in my mind, can cause serious social harm for an individual, and restrict them even from the real experience as they don’t match their fantasies.
And at last, the simplest reason, children play this game. Often young teenagers who are going through their puberty. They can’t consent for they are too young, their hormones often confuse them to easily partake in something that could harm them into adulthood. This is specially bad since Goldshire is one of the first ERP hubs new players get into, before contacting more serious RP places.
The sad facts is, Goldshire is going to stay. It’s been this way since the beginning of the server, and will only stay this way for probably forever. Blizzard have done nothing to the situation, and the best thing we can do is to advice new roleplayers to avoid the place at all costs. While directing people cought ERPing in the city, back to Goldshire where they belong.
The thing here is also. Even if Blizzard started lowering the banhammer upon Goldshire, would it make a difference? I think more people would try their luck in the more serious roleplay areas. I know I got some inappropriate whispers time to time. We can complain about Goldshire all we like, it’s a big cliche at this point as yes, we get it, you are distancing yourself from those RPers. But probably without a concentration area they would be everywhere where you don’t want them to be.
At this point, I think it’s impossible to do anything about it. People are interested in it, and try to search it out. The best we can do is distancing our community from theirs.

While I don’t think it was related to ERP(or true) do remember a couple of years ago that other posters used to talk about how even a few more years ago(so back towards wrath/cata times) a GM was found out to be directly involved with a rp-guild(it was either that they knew a person in it, or had a character in it themselves), and heavily abused this.
Even if that case wasn’t true, considering what I have personally seen around “that” saga here on the forums/what you mentioned, alongside messages I’ve personally received from some forum blues, it is pretty clear some of them shouldn’t have this kind of authority and are doing naughty stuff.
At this point why don’t blizzard just make 18+ servers for that kinda things with lewd animations and such since they don’t seem to wana bann erpers.
Because that would mean effort, and also dropping the mask completely.
Even if the mask is hanging on by a thread.

Nice to know keeping forum ‘integrity’ seems more important than the actual concerns a bunch of people have regarding illegal misconduct.
I still feel like nothing was said that warranted deletion because knowing who to stay away from isn’t a bad thing.
You wouldn’t want to be associated with those people because it would put your own account at risk if any action was taken and likewise you don’t want your friends unknowingly get roped into dodgy stuff either.

I will say this much. I reported a very (!) explicit player a couple of days ago, and my report was answered within a couple of hours. The player in question hasn’t resurfaced since, so I’m tentatively hopeful that things aren’t running entirely on fumes just yet.

I completely agree with this. The policy against naming and shaming is alright, since if not for that, people can be bullied and outed for many things, like roleplaying wrong, misunderstanding how Illidari and Ebons work for example. But the people that engage in straight up pedo RP needs to be dealt with before it ends up on the forum.
This is where Blizzard is doing an absolute terrible job, they don’t moderate ingame at all. This kind of a problem is way more serious than saying the F word when you wipe in Mythic+.
Blizzard likes to bury these things as soon as possible. The next time I come across something like this, I will post it on twitter and tag every news outlet that is out for blood because of everything that is going on inside of Activision Blizzard. Maybe they will catch onto how things are progressing in-game as well.
Would be hilarious to see this blow up for real, and not just have every GM scoop it under the rug while people get groomed and tricked into this sick RP.
And for the record, I don’t mean innocent erp that is kept under wraps during a lasting romantic relationship, but all the dock wh***s and the children involved makes me sick.
