Wowhead info is lacking. Is the quest repeatable if you attain another Battered Hilt? How many transmog looks do you get? Only the one weapon selected? All eligible for your class? Any way to use the quest item in the most efficient way? Should I do it on my warrior?
Hey Dowlphin, when completing a quest, including the Battered Hilt quest, that provides multiple transmog options based on what you pick, you’ll unlock all rewards that class completing it is eligible to use. There’s also a great guide here on how transmog unlocks items if you ever need to reference it!

Wowhead shows only one or two items eligible for a class even though they could equip more of them. It seems to be a bit of an unusual quest, or at least the risk is high because of the rarity of the quest item.
The guide doesn’t clarify beyond a doubt what happens if the quest can award an agi str and int sword, for example, whether the primary stat limits what looks will be added. But if I go by the system on the Wowhead quest page, I guess I would really have to choose wisely, that if I turned it in on my warrior, only the str-sword’s look would be added. (I assume all specs would be taken into account through.)
I guess I could try it myself on the PTR (if transmog system is active there). A bit tedious, but then I’d know for sure.
You have an official response from blizzard themselves. If they said something, then that’s what happens in game.

I went through the arduous questline on PTR and can report the following results:
The weapon options shown in the quest text are those shown on Wowhead. Basically only those with the right stats for the class.
But when I turned the quest in, all looks of weapons I could equip, whether it makes sense or not, were added. Since I did this quest chain with a warrior, that means all looks were unlocked.
