Battle net launcher wanting me to install game already installed

At random when I open the launcher it presents me with the ‘install’ option rather than play for retail WoW. I click the ‘already installed? Locate the game’ option and point it in the direction of the game folder, it then does a small update and I can play. This happens a few times a week on average. I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled, I have formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows and then downloaded a clean install of battle net and WoW and yet this continues to happen. My partner has exactly the same computer and is not having these issues.

Anyone else experienced this and found a solution or a cause?

Thanks for the suggestions, but in an attempt to fix the issue I formatted my hard drive and installed a fresh copy of windows as well as Bnet and WoW, the problem still persists so I don’t believe it is a cache issue or it would have been fixed when installing from scratch.
