I recently checked what new shiny stuff drops from the new raid and as a warrior who enjoys all specs I found one quite annoying thing.
There are 2 2H strength weapons and they drop from 1st and 8th Boss.
There are also 2 Shields and guess what, they also drop from 1st and 8th Boss.
Was this intentional? And if so, why?
I know which item I will be trying to get first, but when I get the shield and it won’t +10 warforge I will need to think If it is worth it to try to get it warforged or switch to dps spec and try getting a dps weapon.
I understand that similar problems occur when you are trying the get a cool trinket but the boss drops something else for your other specs, but in this case, the damage could have been mitigated by splitting at least one pair to different bosses.
I have a suggestion how to please me (and some other people who like more specs on their class). If we could pick multiple loot specs this wouldn’t be problem. Is there any downside to this? If so let me know.
After getting the shield I would add dps specs to my loot specs and then I could get both warforged shield if lucky or at least the base 2H weapon.
Do you really have to ask this? Why would a boss drop less loot for one specialization over another?
In Uldir pretty much every Boss dropped 3 items for every specialization and if there is an item exclusive for one, you would put in another exclusive one for the corresponding specialization (to be honest I was kind of buffled, when I realized, that healing and dps trinkets for priest get dropped from different bosses in Uldir and I therefore could affect the chance of loot droping for me).
Yes, I understand that they overlap. But when you put 2 of each items in the raid, they shouldn’t drop from the same two bosses.
I don’t think this happened to me before. In Uldir, there was an overlap on Mythrax with 1H and 2H str weapon, I totally get that and am fine with that, but there was also 1H on Fetid and a 2H on Taloc.
But now when I am unlucky and don’t get a shield soon, I will certainly not get a 2H weapon anytime soon.
As a priest main, I am not as dependent on Lotspecialization, as you wear similar gear in every spec apart from trinkets. But on my DK I aim for the base level weapon for my main spec (frost) and change to the second spec (blood) when I got it, when I have both I stick to the main spec until there is no progress possible on it (on the alt very unlikely) and maybe there is some progression gained through other means (emissarys - which will depend on lootspec from season 2 on - or something similar).
Good luck with your loot, I hope you don’t get stuck with one spec because the other one lacks behind in gear by a huge margin.
I am doing the same with my specs. I just think that this situation could have been better if at least one pair was split or we had an option to have multiple loot specs.
