Thanks, think i have most of these. I usually collect mounts but since it wow related im kinda debating if i care enough.
I’ve really enjoyed it. Some things were a little frustrating but on the whole the community has made things easier with the various weak auras and websites for some of the puzzles.
Do you need to finish the visitor thing to be able to start it?
You need to get the detective title first and then head to Dornohal and speak to the Dalaran refugee with the title active. This will start the quest to unlock the catacombs.
i was going to start it but the idea of spending idk how many hours wasting time getting the title is a bit off putting.
i’m assuming this also goes away after event is over?
Fro the title you only have to do two of the listed achievements.
You could just do all the celebration crates as doing all 11 would get you two achievements. There are guides on where to go and what to pick up.
I’ll have to dig to see what is going away with the anniversary.
(I’ll quote myself from another post)
Yes we can just wait guide and follow step by step.
But then it’s just an unbrain clic-and-collect. I’ve done Incognitro’s 6 first pillars so far, and I was watching the whole Arcane season2 whyle doing these pillars. I stoped this nonsense clue-hunt when I ended the season, after Zul Gurub.
I tried to understand some clues by myself, but srsly it’s harsh.
I play since the WoW beta, I read novels and stuff, but most puzzles are details lost in the maelstrom of Warcraft.
- Like the first one, Olgra, starting with a love detail between orcs. I thought about Thrall and Aggra, but srsly who would think about a character we didn’t see since Shadowlands.
- The Nyalotha thing is about Mantids and Old Gods. I thought it would be in Dread Wastes, where Mantids are, but no. The Nyalotha stone is hidden on the sacred rooftop because… the Cho chad fought Mantids.
- The Zul’Gurub clue is a book that can’t even be opened and read… placed in the middle of a room full of other clues, in catacombs full of other clues. Once in Zul’Gurub we had nothing to learn, nothing to discover, no NPC to tell us what was Zul’Gurub back in the days.
I camped in Zul’Gurub for 1 hour waiting for 2 holograms to be filled with other players (I had the 2 first by myself). On the Vice one I was only missing the Venthyr Sinheart battle pet. The Venthyr battle who needs completed Venthyr’s story, and 30x Grateful Offering, so a lot of farm. I did not play Venthyr, so no Venthyr Story, and I had already spent all my Grateful Offering. And the question here is : What is the link between Zul’Gurub and Venthyrs? Why do we have to bring Venthyr’s stuff in Zul’Gurub?
No clue, no lore, no connection, no NPC… no fun.
This kind of “riddle” is a thing in WoW, like the Lucid Nightmare.
But this is definetly not a thing for the usual player. I don’t even speak about “casual”. But usual fan involved in lore, who read novels, read the online Short Stories… wouldn’t have a damn idea about where most of these ingame “clues” bring.
But think about a new player who started at Dragonflight or TWW, and who would like to do these treasure hunts by themselves. To connect novels and short stories to ingame lore. They pay their subscription to have fun, not for no-brain-farm or follow clic-and-collect (nobrain) guide.
But no. Just bring a Shadowland’s pet in an empty Zul’Vanilla raid, and get a step for a green bike.
Considering all the work that goes into making these “treasure hunts”, Bliz could make more accessible, more fun clue chains, providing cool lore through meeting iconic NPCs who would tell us just a little bit of their story…
Instead of that, we have to wait for the elite fans who know 30 years of Warcraft’s details, and follow their instructions with hours of going around in circles on Azeroth to clic-and-collect.
Yay. Thanks Blizz.
Its extremely boring
But I agree its not hard, atleast not functionally
What is hard however is staying awake during battle pats, or not listening to that inner voice just screaming at you to do anything else.
It doesn’t appeal to everyone. There is no reason you have to do it doesn’t tickle your fancy.
I’m not really the kind of person that can solve riddles, and like you say this isn’t the first time we’ve had secrets in warcraft that the collective have worked out. I think it’s a fantastic community effort. It’s also impressive that people can create weak auras and websites to help with tracking, solving.
I do enjoy seeing what people’s thought processes are on the secrets discord but it’s a heck of a lot of trial and error and bouncing ideas off each other. It’s only possible to solve/discover things because so many people are trying stuff and working it out.
Bringing players together is great, but making such complex content without any trace of lore - and without any fun out of WoW Secrets Finding Discord… is just lame.
I bought two of the three pets on ah for combined 80k for lvl 25’s.
Last one i got from a dracthyr campaign and i bought a stone to get it to lvl 25.
I hate pet fights but this was not too bad
Warden puzzle saying hello.
You can get 3 pets that are eligible for the event in a grand total of 30 minutes, plus the tokens needed to level them in roughly an hour without ever doing a pet battle.
Then you go beat feasel once and you’re done.
Took me about an hour and half - if you follow the guide and use ttpaste for tomtom. Then just fly and follow the arrows. Goes fairly quick and it took me half a day to get up to Pyre 6. Pyre 7 and 8 may take a bit longer to get to depending on how quick get the color buffs on your little watcher pet from Pyre 6. Pyre 7 I suggest you use the website I think Punnyelf has poste the link too and Pyre 8 just use the weakaura to do the work while you kill all the rats.
Tip on Pyre 8 - count the rats and then kill everything in your path to ensure the catacomb rats don’t screw it up for you.
and because of that blizz wasted resources making this.
It’s funny when someone with IQ below 80 has such strong opinions.
First of all it’s a cosmetic and they can lock it behind whatever the hell they feel like. That’s like me complaining on the forums I’ll never get a glad mount because I honestly really suck at pvp.
Oh, and those scary RARE pets you’re whining about took me about 15 min to get three of them. As someone who does little pet battle content as well.
My advise to you is to grow tf up and learn not to be spoon fed everything like a wittle baby
Just because you don’t do that content does not mean other people don’t as well. Get over yourself
You lost me at half a day and it got worse from there. I currently dont enjoy wow enough to put that much time into it.
Suite yourself. It took me half a day because I am slower these days. But I guess you right, its not for everyone.
I have defeated Jeremy twice using Baa’l, Glimr & Jenafur, but no quest. Am i missing something?
