Hi, why are the random battleground queue times painfully long? Even when I queue on my shaman to heal im waiting so long :,(
Ive recently returned from a 6 year break and can’t remember them being like this.

Unfortunately a lot of casual players have left because PVP is really hard in this expansion.

Its not hard its just not fun
this is how it looks when i join a random bg
2 players with full pve set
3-4 players barely have 3 pieces of honor gear everything else is greens
1-2 players have conquest gear (including me)
everyone else fresh level 70 no gear at all
its never fun either stomp or get stomped
Epic bg’s´?
Alterac Valley - Boss rush pretty much no pvp
Ashran - afk dmg spam until someone randomly wins or has artefact and no1 has any idea how that bg even works
Wintergrasp - one fight and then its just about vehicles
Isle of conquest - actually somewhat okay just that there is no balancing at all instead of everything being somwhat meaningful it just ends up about who wins mid and gets to hangar and can cover mid with katapults
thats why i dont really like bgs.

You have hit the nail on the head. Thats exactly what the bgs are like. Feels a little sad when playing now. Like its not as fun as I remembered 
cause PVP in this game is trashfiesta with attacks doing 70%,50% of you entire hp.
Bg nowdays are…
1 sec - enter fight
2 sec - your hp is 70% already while pressing barely 1 button
3 sec - your hp is 50% , congrats you pressed 3 buttons
4 sec - you try to heal
5 sec you are dead
25 sec waiting for respawn
1 sec enter fight
2 sec you are stunned for 4 sec
…
5 sec you are dead
27 sec respawn on gy
repeat

The cringelord premade players that can only have fun in this game through killing new and undergeared players in random BG’s because they’re so a w f u l in any form of rated content have put everybody off from queueing. Who’d have thought.

rly wonder how this can be fixed
New player issues will always be around but they should introduce a minimum ilvl for queuing so then people actually spend 10 seconds searching what they should be doing (buying crafting gear, getting the world quest pvp gear etc)
Now you just have people queuing in timewalking and levelling gear, get stomped by people even in honor gear, then never playing again
Very few people are doing BGs at the moment.
Premades and very poor class balance turns new players away from PvP, with hunters, rogues and enhancement shamans one shotting people.
Queue times are still pretty fast on Horde, alliance is abyssmal as it is longer ONTOP of getting enlistment bonus so horde can merc as ally for some reason
Edit: Very anecdotal but I just had a 13 min wait for ally bg and 2 min on my horde char, ally still has enlistment for ‘needing players’

Yeah, it’s broken.
Or maybe the player pools on both sides are so small that it’d barely make a difference anyway.
I play both factions near daily to play with different friends and the long queues for ally is 2-3x as long as horde pretty consistently, got to the point where I sometimes sit 8-10 min and just close the game on ally side
The queues were almost instant <2 min a few months ago. Now I noticed I wait a long long time (~20 min) as ally for just random BG or epic. Horde side is way way longer.

Because everyone finally realized what a piece of crap and imbalanced the Battlegrounds are. Good on them 
im assuming enlistment and mercenary are completely bug out, like “if you q as horde with merc, you join alliance in bg, but stil count as horde”
because this expansion horde should have enlistment up basically always… *
still, don’t get me wrong, enlistment is a poorly written system in the first place
Would be nice to finally get xfaction bgs so queues aren’t 15mins+
