I know Noxxic aint 100% accurate data, looking at Noxxic and on logs from the raid. DK’s are supposed to self sustain alot - bust still they require alot more healing than the rest of the tanks. I mean Damage taken - Selfheal capability = healing required, should be around the same for every tank.
However all of the healers in my guild says its way too big a difference in SL.
The biggest issue is in M+, when DK’s are unable to go into a pull with boneshield up. Solution could be to let DK’s geneate 1 charges every 2 second when out off combat. Another idea could be to buff mastery and let the blood shield be bigger and last for longer when not in combat.
when i dont have DRW i just pop a preenptive rune tap and proceed as usual, thast 4sec of more mitiation than the armor from bonshield.
is it optimal? no. does it get the job done? yes
already explained in another topic why buffing mastery, which is already mechanicaly weak, should never be buffed, let it be trash and focus on versatility
versa not only reduces physical dmg (and suffers no diminishing returns) but also magical dmg, its active all the time giving a steady mitigation we crave, increases effective HP due to this, triple dips for blood (dmg reduction, dmg increase and healing/shields)
current death strike does not need any mastery at all, the more dmg u are taking the more it will heal and the bigger blood shield is.
this makes it scale from raid to raid without any of ur gear having any mastery at all
Make clever use of what you have instead of complaining of what you do not have. Tanked mythic 0 at 154 ilvl without any real problems. The rest of the group consisted out of 140-160 with a 150 healer. We cc’d trash and got bosses down after a couple of wipes.
honestly i did my first mythic Halls of atonement dungeon as soon as i hit 60 and i was ilvl 138, i died once in the run and looted a 184 ring. was it spiky? oh yes very much. bonestorm and swarming mist from venthyr is nice combo for dmg,healing rp generation when u pull a 5+ mobs
