Be careful when attempting to server transfer

Just want to remind everyone that you have to be really careful when attempting a server transfer. There’s no disclaimers about this at all in the shop, but you can’t transfer from or to most of the EU realms currently. Especially in combination with a faction change this can make you lose irl money. I tried exactly this, faction changing an alt in order to play a different faction on another realm. But I realised after the faction change that you can’t transfer to or from most servers.

So if you don’t want to lose irl money for nothing, don’t attempt either faction change or transfer right now until we get some official update about this. Because there’s nothing telling us this before spending our irl money on their services which don’t work.

Edit: Forgot to mention it’s also not possible to refund any of these services. I created a refund ticket about this in game and was told you can’t refund this. I also submitted a suggestion about them removing most realms from the list since you can’t transfer there anyway, or put a clear disclaimer for this before making a purchase. If more people do this, perhaps they will listen.

Yeah, you can’t transfer to almost any realm actually worth tranafering to. In that sense, PCT may as well not exist in Classic EU realms.

Yeah I know Driros. My point is that should be a disclaimer in the shop before purchase. Because right now, if you look there, every single one of those realms shows up as an option. Which they are not. So in order to avoid customers falling into the trap, they should be removed as long as they are not options for transfers.

Mirage raceway is good server for alliance and horde

You should try it.

Very much besides the point of this thread Tholkrad.

Well, technically you were buying faction change. Why there should be a disclaimer about server transfers? Those are two unrelated services. From technical standpoint of course. I doubt Blizzard is going to ask about your true intent with the faction change loophole.

I can gree with you that there should be a disclaimer about which servers currently accept PCTs when bying one. But disclaimer about servers when buying faction change makes no sense.

The thing is, I looked specifically at what realms I, according to the in game shop, could transfer to before starting the faction change. If the shop had told me in any shape or form that most of the listed realms were in fact not available, I wouldn’t have bought the faction change in the first place.

In retrospect, yes I should have transfered first and then faction changed. But I really thought I was safe here, with how things are presented in the shop.

And since most WotLK classic realms are mono-faction, I’m most likely not the only one interested in faction changing and switching realms at the same time. Paying to play on a 0.1% faction makes no sense for anyone.

Maybe try the transfer first?

Well that is kinda what the title suggests… :stuck_out_tongue: For me the damage is already done, but atleast other people can be made aware now.

But the title has nothing to do with a faction transfer as well. It won’t take you to a payment screen of you cannot move there. Perhaps you can edit your title to be more accurate?

Be careful when attempting to Faction and server transfer

May be better.

Don’t agree. The server transfer in conjunction with the faction change is a problem indeed. But the main issue lies within the (lack of) information available in the shop regarding server transfer and the destinations. It’s misleading, which is not a good thing when selling a product or a service.

LOL. thanks for doing customer support’s job buddy

This is not about me trying to act the customer support I never had myself. I think it’s a rather poor business practice. I also work for a large company with thousands of employees and it’s tragic to see how certain things are dealt with here from a business point of view.

Edit: At second thought, I guess that’s somewhat what I’m doing. But I believe it’s for a good cause.

He is just joking. Thanks for warning us. If someone didn’t do research, it can be a surprise. Maybe this thread will save someone money.
