Be careful with interuption addons - or dont interupt at all

KK so i will share my short unfun experience i just had with blizz

got my account suspended - for what ? aparetly people can troll report your interuption announcing addons in dungeons. 3/4 of list they listed when appealing as example of was reported for was literaly interupts from dungeons

so i am no longer surprised why people dont interupt.

much fun blizz - much fun .

i promise you blizz - im never interupting again when suspension will be removed.

on the other hand - for people who want to troll others - aparently you can do it to innocent players this way .

good game design eh ?

Do you mean the addons that ANNOUNCE your interupt?
i.e. “Shammoz interupted chaos bolt”

Or do you mean you have an addon that does your interupts?

I don’t understand how they’re trolling… how exactly?

I use a macro that says: Used interrupt! whenever i use Rebuke.

Yes, sometimes i won’t be the one to get the cast, as someone else was a few miliseconds faster, but nonetheless my interrupt will go on cooldown, so people don’t rely on something that can’t happen anymore for a few seconds.

I guess it could be considered spamming the chat? Just get rid of the addon or macro.

Players that are reported for chat, are usually only squelched (chat ability removed). To get a full account suspension requires GM intervention who examines the report and takes action based on that investigation.

Are you sure there was not some other more heated chat going on? In a dungeon only 4 people can report you and that is not enough for even a squelch.

Sorry, but it just seems there is more to this than just a chat announce of interupts.

I prefer players to announce so I dont waste a cooldown :slight_smile:

im sure that when i was appealing i got a small window with examples of what i got reported for and 3/4 of it was literaly interuption announcements.

want to know what other was ? literaly “i dont know how you guys can find zereth mortis fun " or " this zone is soooo boring” from general chat.

no raical slurs / no invecitves / no real offensive language .

like i said 3/4 of exmaple for interuption announcements.

so - be careful to not find yourself in my position. best dont interupt.

and yes its complete joke on blizzard part

I’m not sure who the bigger troll is at this point, the ones that reported you, or the GM that banned you for such a stupid reason…

Well I mean “reported for” doesn’t necessarily mean “actioned for”. You can be reported for literally anything. Whether or not you get actioned for it is something else.

Was the 1/4 of the list something actionable by any chance?

this is just cautionary tale so others can learn from unfair tramtment i recieved from blizz while i have to wait for their repsonse on my appeal

im already done with m+ this week so dont really care - gonna just spend this time playing FF14 :slight_smile: it would have hurt if i got it before weekend . but now ? nope :slight_smile:

I don’t really think it’s unfair treatment. It’s just the flaws of automated systems. I’m not sure if bans are automated aswell, but I think a lot of other stuff like disconnects and silences are automated.

So maybe you just got reported too much in a short period of time. Why multiple people would report you for that is beyond me though.

I honestly hate that interrupt thing, it’s so spammy, I prefer a WA with group CD tracking.

But being suspended cause of it seems a bit stupid on Blizzard part honestly, unless there is more to it.

Even if this is true, I can absolutely 100% guarantee you that this is not the reason people fail to interrupt…

i know it will ceratainly be the reaosn for me. im never using this addon again . shame it will affect negatively goood groups which value such information in dungeon .

I can only suggest using an group interrupt tracker like OmniCD instead of announcing your interrupt in the chat. The chat announcement is pretty much just useless chat clutter for your group anyway.

Announcing the interrupts is useful as well as tracking.

I use details to announce my interrupts in chat as it will only trigger if I was the one interrupting.

I’m surprised anyone would get actioned for this. It’s just functional.

A lot of the times people can’t even interrupt because they all overlapped their interrupts on the first target, lol. It’s so annoying to see after I started tracking that stuff. Goliath about to smash us? Welp, 4 people interrupted and now the other goliath does it and nobody can interrupt it.

^^ This is the biggest cause.

Everyone does the first interrupt or the person with the interrupt free doesn’t know that they need to do it.
