Bee question

So, am doing the bee and idk I feel like I’m hardstuck or will be if I don’t get some better info than what I have atm…

Larva wants bar filled…apparently several times over…I can find very little honey for it and what I can find is few and far in between. And the value of what I find in terms of how much of the bar it fills is mediocre.

I tried buying honey…spent half my funds on the sole alliance char for not even a full square of the bar. Non-viable option.

Is there any other, better way? While doing wq’s on horde chars a while ago I did notice alliance players fighting spawning bees in a sort of yellow flower circle on the ground. Does that give more honey?

Thanks for any answers. o/

From what I have experienced (I have completed the mount), it’s not much more than that. It’s just one long grind until you have all the jellies to let the larva reach mature stage.

Larva stage is 3500 points, juvenile stage is another 7000 points. Each jelly you turn in awards you 5 points (20 for rich jelly, 40 for royal jelly accordingly). Gaining reputation will give looting jelly nodes a chance for multiple jelly drops and blue/purple drops as well. The higher rep you get, the more jelly can drop. At exalted you can have up to 5 jelly per node.

Things that help:

  • At revered you can invest a number of rich jellies for goggles that will show the jelly nodes on your minimap for an hour. I thought this was a one-time use and didn’t buy it, but a friend of mine did and said it was absolutely worth it because you find a lot of jelly that you wouldn’t otherwise. Item is reuseable, not one time use.
  • Killing the giant (Honeysmasher) will not only give a decent amount of rep once a day, but he also has the chance to drop buff items (one time use) that will massively increase the chance to get multiple jellies and blue/purple jellies from nodes for 30 minutes (an hour?)
  • The events (fighting bees in the flower circles) aren’t that amazing from a jelly/minute point of view, but it’s great rep because the minibosses will drop quest items you can turn in for a decent amount of rep. More rep means higher chance of getting multiple jellies and rich/royal, so that’s good
  • The 15 year anniversary buff not only applies to rep gains, but also larva/bee feeding. So one normal jelly will reward 5,5 points instead of 5, rich is at 22, royal at 44. So you might want to finish with the bee before the anniversary event is done.

Overall I think you just need to accept that contrary to Kua’fon and Child of Torcali, the bee is just one massive grind. You are absolutely free to finish on your own time (go honey-hunting for 10 hours a day and you’ll be done faster), but it’s still a mindless grind nonetheless.

Edit:
Forgot to say, turning down “Ground Clutter” to 1 in the graphics options also helps massively to spot nodes from further away. Might not be a huge thing for you, but it definitely helped me to spot nodes a bit quicker.

In addition to the above very helpful post, I just want to add that if your alliance character is a human, you do get the increased rep gains from the racial too, which speeds things up a bit.

Once you’re past larvae stage and can buy the goggles, it gets sooooo much easier and faster! They cost jelly to buy but are 100% worth it! If you have a friend who already had the goggles, they could maybe help you to find some nodes?

Also there are far more groups for the events and honeysmasher with warmode off. I played with WM on and had trouble finding groups.

Hi, I have the googles and still busy with getting to exalted, so if you want we can join up, but I’m farming it in an easy pace. So no hours grind everyday, just a few laps around Stormsong for like 2 times a week. let me know if you are interested.

Was this nerfed? I recall it being twice that?

Anyway. The bee grind is slow at first, but once you get to revered and can buy the goggles, its done in few hours. At least was for me. Before revered takes a very long time.

More so, if the jellies were nerfed?

I appreciate the offer, but I’m also doing it at my own pace, one lap around the valley every few days and as such, the chances of us two syncing right at the same time are pretty low.
Also don’t want to commit to something and then something else comes up and I go do that and you wait for me…or vice versa.

Appreciate the offer, I really do, just don’t want to get tied down to schedules not of my own making if that makes sense.

Thanks again!

No problemo

This … my life changed when someone on my realm mentioned it in chat. I didn’t find the goggles very helpful as the ground clutter thing meant I spotted nodes before the goggles did even from way up in the air.
The other thing that helped was an addition to the Handy Notes addon called BFA Jelly which shows all the possible spawn points so you can plan a reasonable route around the zone.

Oh yeah, right. I use Gathermate and it also tracks jelly nodes. I just mostly ignored it after a certain point where I got into a groove and had my usual flight route down

I don’t know… I started with the quest relatively late into the patch, and it was 5 per jelly for me (multiplied by the respective relative value of rich and royal jellies), plus the 10% bonus granted by the anniversary buff. I’d assume that the Darkmoon rep buff also helps, so you might want to check that out if you’re still on the grind

In case you’ve not seen it, this guide is very good:-

The ground clutter tip is invaluable, turn your settings down and you will see so much more. I did my farm some time ago but there used to be groups going around, usually the lead has the goggles and you all follow them around looting all the same spawns.

Once you get the goggles you will see so many spots you would normally have missed. Once you get a feel for where they are, it’s a lot easier and more efficient to gather. I did my bee mount in two and a half mornings. Just stick with it, you’ll get there.

If you have more than one level 120 character on same faction and server, they can both do Honeysmasher and collect stuff and mail stuff to one character (only one char needs to get mount, then all alliance chars can use it)
