"Beer" -> mature language

Indeed! The experience of drinking something on its right glass is completely different.

We used to have an old man who sad to say passed away last year . But he used to have 3 different glasses, mugs, steiner depending on what he wanted .
Lager was glass with handle and no head or froth on it .
Ales he always wanted in his pewter mug with some froth .
Then beers he would use his steiner that had to be atleast 60 years old full frothy .
Same chair all the time and he used to go outside for his pipe only 1 pint used to last him an afternoon real charmer with always a story to tell so polite and a real gentleman.

The foam is important too when it comes to beers, it actives some sense and it’s part of the experience.
As you said those beers have a specific way of serving.
In my opinion serving a beer, cocktail or whatever drink is an art that not everyone is capable of.

Thank you for sharing your story. I used to know similar people, engaging individuals. They had fascinating stories even if sometimes simple and interesting behavior.
(I like to study ‘body language’ and behaviors that is)

I like Franziskaner or Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier, I can’t recommend them enough, Bruges Zot, or the lighter ales like Tim Taylors Landlord or Hobgoblin Gold. Some of the German Lagers are good too, as long as they are brewed in Germany, Munich if possible, not like UK Becks.

I rarely drink nowadays, had enough in my youth and also seen the bad effects. But there are 2 yearly traditions.

A very cold beer in a warm summer day. Both the beer and the glass have been in the freezer and are ice cold. Not very strong in alcohol, light and prominent taste of hops.

In the darkest time of the year, 13 December, the queen of light, Lucia, is celebrated in Sweden. An old pagan tradition with Christian remake. Then I want a special kind of spiced red wine called Glögg. You drink it warm with chopped almonds and racins.

Blizzard is run by californian SJWs, what did you expect??

Accept it, old man! Beer tastes terrible!

Rum ftw.

SJW mentality didn’t exist in 2004, try again.

I legit blame the Americans for all this PC nonsense.

They are among the people with the thinnest skin in the world.

Naughty language? Nudity on television? THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!

Violence? Guns? All well and good, it’s our Culture!

Remember we’re dealing with a country that allows blood. guts and violence to be shown throughout the day but will censor a buttcrack showing above a pair of trousers!

I went to visit a friend in America a number of years ago and was amazed that during the daytime I could watch the film Commando in it’s entirety but that evening on a light entertainment show they pixellated someone whose trousers were a bit too low.

I really don’t think it means the same thing in America…I mean it -can’t- Surely to goodness…I remember on the credits for Buffy the Vampire Slayer there was a person called Thomas Tanker (No prizes for guessing which letter was different!) and just going "No way, they must know, they surely must know, I mean they have Anthony Head as an actor on that show, he is English, surely he must have said “By the way chaps…” then I thought, no, they have -Anthony Head- on that show, and by all accounts the man has an impish sense of humour, he probably did -not- say “umm…”

I mean I have a fairly robust vocabulary, and regard swearing as a tool of Language for emphasis, Goodness, Shakespeare agrees with me on that front, so I am hardly some potty mouthed hooligan, but even so, I would not use -that- word in front of my mother, good grief no.

Meh, that’s to me, a ‘filler’ drink, it’s there to assist in getting inebriated, I don’t know anyone who drinks it for the taste…

Got to remember, I am terribly, terribly English (despite being half Scots, half Irish), it is oft said that from an Englishman the most damning phrase is “not terribly Good” and the most glowing praise is “not too Bad!”

Talisker is right up there with Laphroaig and Jameson’s. And Black Mountain.

I dunno, I am partial to the black stuff, but only when poured by barstaff who know their art, Guinness from cans is the devil’s own bumgravy.

Never got on with Bass, but Doombar and Hobgoblin is awesome. Anything from Wychwood Brewery tends to be a real taste treat. I like Spitfire too, by Shepherds Neame brewery.

Why would you commit such a crime to two such noble drinks, Guinness is lovely, Port is sublime…

It is one foible I have translated over in character to Brigante, he drinks Port, almost exclusively, it is, as he says “What wine wants to be, when it grows up” and is “The Drink of Heroes, do you know why?” “Because I drink it.”.

You are identifying my lifestyle goals when I am in my 80’s or so…

Ah yes, remember the brewery name too now that you mention it. Has a real Fable feel to it. Which makes sense as Fable is super English (at least from the perspective of someone who’s not).

Sips on Castle Lager & Carling Black Label Larger

For some reason this made me laugh :joy::sweat_smile:

Just a headsup a have a childish sense of humor when im tired xD

A Guild mate got 3 day ban in the middle of a raid back in tbc because he had a character on his account named “Snuff”. He didn’t even know this because his brother created the character. He didn’t recieve the ban because of the account sharing but because of the name of the character.

While i do understand that there is category of videos in the Internet with that name that should not exist because of their nature i find the bigotry on the side of Blizzard actually hilarious.

Oh even has a Superlativ: https://classic.wowhead.com/item=3910/snuff
