Being melee in STV bloodmoon sucks

A lot of ranged dps and players already have their stv mount. I barely have 30 silver coins in total after like 7-8 events. I play war, the pop on my serv is medium and most groups just dont want a war because it’s just a blood piñata. Being ranged or heal are the 2 acceptable criteria for stv bloodmoon event. And it kinda sucks because the rewards are nice for pvp.

The event as such sucks. There are so many issues with it: stacking meta ranged, players spending more time dead than alive, blood gains being tied to lasthitting only, absurd player density, unreasonably high mount prices, the inability to do a basic rebuff due to the chaos…

Nothing new about that, the design is somehow awesome, but the execution is horrible.

Imo, there shouldnt be a “boss” that provided the buff, but the buff should be active on the entire zone. So you dont end up with a “cluster” amount of people stacking on each other.
And at the same time, let the amount of blood you get stack for the entire duration of the game.

just get 2healer and 2other war and destroy everything , melee cleave are actually quite strong in stv especially since mortal strike make ppl unhealable.

it’s not that bad since they fixed the pet bug , sadly huntards still 3tap you even with 12k hp

And it is even worse than ever now with mages 3tapping with icelance

Not correct, when i play my shaman i laugh all the time about all the alliance who cant kill me

Melee teams can do decently in STV but you need to strategize a little.
You don’t want to fight on open field as you’ll be deleted easily. Most altars have ruins next to them and that’s where you should stand your ground.
Los the ranged, don’t let them settle there and kill anyone approaching the altar. Ranged are bound to jump in your arms when they tag their blood and by being coordinated you can go for quick in-and-outs kills before hiding inside the ruins again. Warrior hook works wonder too.

You still won’t do better than ranged teams who can average 2k coins per run but I had a few 1k5+ runs doing this.
Otherwise yeah, you hardly go over 1k coins staying in the open.
