Bellular's spiraling out of control

No you re not, welcome in

I don’t agree. What the higher management is doing is going to impact all the devs, whom he is defending and in turn be reflected on the game we get.
Things were looking good with dragonflight. We have a good content plan. If the devs leave, it will turn into another Shadowlands.

Also, Bellular runs a successful company, including a gaming studio. I think he has legitimacy to talk.
I also never seen him like that. But, it just passed across how serious the situation is.

I think Bellurar’s takes on that video are warranted considering a lot of people reached out from Blizzard to him and wanted to send a message of the real situation going on the company.

Devs are asked to return to the office. The majority of the world has already done that and survives just fine.

If this is too much for them, there are tons of companies in Silicon Valley and the rest of the States that offer amazing opportunities 100% remotely.

insert the WWII german establishment prey’s name instead of “streamers” and it’s just about close enough to make you grow a teeny mustache

Tbh can a small indie company developing some 2 looking game really compare to a big company in charge of multiple big games? Small companies do things much differently than some huge company

People love to joke about blizz being a small indie company but its much easier to keep things under supervision and control with a small company

Crazy that we need to state the obvious, isnt it

And in English?

They were told they weren’t going to. If you watched the video you should know these things. The choice of house and cost of living is high in california. They made living arrangements that now might not work out anymore.
Yes, that means they will leave. That should be something that should worry you, not something to wave away like nothing. It WILL impact the game.

That does not put them above criticism.

To be fair when employed it was before covid so working in the office was the norm.

Then… don’t watch it?
You know these “influencers” or content creators, or whatever fancy name you call them worth basically nothing
Especially not my, your, or anyone time

It does not. But you gave him having a game company as a example as if he was an expert of everything blizz has to deal with and there. While in reality comparing a small company with a big one is like comparing apples with oranges.

Like i said you cant judge a big company as if it should be functioning like a small company with 10 people.

As a kid i used to stand and sell stuff ona fleamarket. but that doesnt mean im a sales expert knowing everything to run a supermarket.

He has more legitimacy than say a random forum poster hm? He doesn’t need to be an exec in a top company to be more legitimate than others. I think being a games developer owner does give him some clout on the field to set him apart from a random player or just a youtuber.

The problem is the declining quality of the product and now we see that bad leadership is to blame, if the needs of employees won’t be adressed people will leave. Once people leave its hard to get people of quality back, specially in game development and so we get a potentially worse products in the future.

I dont even know where to start with that

Yes. And that had to change because this is the reality in the corporate world. It’s not convenient but you need to be ready to adapt.

From my experience, individual cases can be sorted out. Eg., if employee X has made living arrangements that absolutely prevent them from returning to the office, then management will often provide a period of adjustment, in order for it to be possible again. Considering the issues Blizzard recently faced, I would be surprised if they wouldn’t wanna show some flexibility there. Especially when it concerns high performing employees.

No it won’t. If all goes south with the current ones, new devs will join the company that show up at the office. Perhaps we’ll experience less bugs in the game too. I wanna remain optimistic.

Yes, but that doesnt mean people have to take some clickbait youtuber as their messiah lol. You can try to discredit me as just some random forum poster. But just like he can legitimately point out blizz faults according to you then i can point out the fact that he is in a completely different situation than blizz.

God you fanboys will always defend your youtuber/streamers without any regard to being reasonable

Id take him word for word if he ran a massive company like blizzard. But bellular is no bobby. and managing thousanths of people and multiple games just is very different than some small indie company wich you could speak to entirely and personally trough a single video call

I choose to watch something, however uncomfortable it may be, for reasons of my own. This should not be of your concern but mine alone. Please direct your comments to me if you have some actual feedback, suggestions like such fall short.
