I need to try new games well games i didn’t play into, i am taking about playing some civilizations games amongst other farm simulator must be fun too .
I own most of the civ games despite hearing the 6 kinda sucks i bought it at massive 75 % discount i figured even if it was terrible at 75 % it would be worth it maybe
as for the person commenting my posting I have heavy Dyslexia i’m quite incapable of writing as fancy as you in fact it took me years to get this good with my learning disability so sorry for my “word salad” i guess
Eh, plenty of streamers are great background entertainment.
So many games i’m interested in but not in the mood/have time to play myself that i have instead watched others complete.
Or… spoiling myself on a story driven game because of asinine temporary/permanent console exclusivity.
Had to go and watch the video in question to understand what on earth is going on here…
I’m beyond amazed at all the shades of negativity here… From generic “I’m going massively hate on this streamer because miaaaaah” all the way to straight up hating the devs… Seriously?
Is that video a bit dramatic in it’s delivery? Yeah sure, but what on earth do you expect?! Sensationalist drama has been around before the internet, cable news, all the way to old timey printed news papers and I’m sure if we dig around history we’d find more… Why are people still so bothered or even impressed by click bait?! That’s how YouTube and the rest of them antisocial medias work. What do you want the video to be called?
“Analysis and critique of Blizzard’s leadership and corporate direction, a retrospective video thesis by Michael Bellular”… Would you click on that?! NO
The majority of the critiques are actually based around MY’s actual quotes from some interviews he did. How would you feel if your boss said the things this dude said? Don’t know him personally but I sure as hell wouldn’t want to work for that guy. Over the last few years, even before the pandemic and the harassment case, a worrying amount of senior staff left. Staff are still leaving. The stack ranking nonsense has caused massive outrage across the industry, industries shall I say as this isn’t only in game dev. Call it anecdotal, but why are so many game devs across multiple disciplines taking to social media to say how little they enjoyed their time at Blizzard?
Thats what some Japanese CEO did at some point, but you probably know most of people there are employed on per lifetime basis for the same company, so the loyalty to each other can lead to such selfless acts.
Demanding same approach for the people who feel its ok to switch employer for 10% bonus salary is a bit too much imho.
He is manager, not owner. His skills have a market value. If you can manage to run this company for less salary why arent you a CEO of Blizzard?
If you need to cut the payroll by 30% and you choose to cut off everyone’s bonus instead of laying people off for example it is a better choice imho. After all, now its the employer market, not the employee one. People might not find a good job for a long time.
For me CEOs who keep people employed in this time ( and its a real recession ) are a role models.
He is a captain, he didnt make sea go windy and stormy, neither he owns the ship or goods. Saving crew lives is exactly best he can do.
If someone wants to jump into open sea or sail with a small boat start up in the storm… I cant recommed it.
Can you show me all of this please would be interesting to read/watch. I you talking about 10s or 100s of people here or a handful?
More than just a bit Ballualar went over the top.
I giggled reading, very well said.
Actually, people are not bothered by clickbait, its just the go-to insult when they find no other specific reason to justify their dislike for a person
I still believe many people dislike him because of envy. Because a random player like us, managed to get where he is, without being a good player. How dare he!
Well, the man seen a niche and took advantage, good for him.
All in all, we need a filter based on education, common sense, maturity and life experience, to help us clear the noise (clickbait, advertisement, hypocrisy) from the pure information. Many people lack this filter and get cought in the way and their frustration results in hate for X Y or Z
I mean, maybe if people felt that the company would definitely look after them for their entire working life, and not just shut down departments like CS on a whim, there would be more loyalty? It works both ways.
Are people earning 20x their average worker salary are actually 20x smarter? Or is it that they were in the right place at the right time to have the right conversations when something started, which then snowballed their life in a particular direction and led to a series of meetings and conversations that other people had no access to?
People underestimate the role of luck with regards of having a lot of money.
This is the kind of rhetoric used to intimidate people into sticking with a job for less than they are worth while someone with more money than them pockets the difference. It is the sound of rich people refusing to sell a yacht and preferring to dump some workforce.
Back to the initial point about loyalty, tbh.
i think his videos are good and informative only ones that don’t like him because he says bad things about “your garden” wow gone downhill for ages DF not improved it just a lick of paint on it and band aids…
True, yet you do not examine why this is working in Japan. As it seems to me they have a loyalty culture and monolithic society, which took ages to build and form, unlike the culture of opportunistic individualism and therefore quite franckly divided society.
What do you think?
No, obviously tech expert on certain field will be more qualified in the field of their expertiese.
However, art of managing companies, taking risk for picking people, leading projects, allocating resources should be rewarded more, cause it affects the results of the company way more than individual skill.
In a booming market may be you would be justified calling it an intimidation.
However, the reality of the situation is far from growing atm, unless you work in China. They seem to be on top of their game.
Nothing about this post is sane
