Belt of the Sleeper transmog changed – why was the original look removed?

I wanted to share a bit of context and ask a simple question: why was the original appearance of Belt of the Sleeper changed?

This isn’t just about an item for me – it’s about the effort behind it.

I farmed Belt of the Sleeper for a long time. Since it only drops in Ulduar 25-man, and I mainly play rogues, I even leveled and geared a Pandaren tank specifically to be able to do the run. Leather user, survivability, the whole setup. It took time, planning, and a lot of patience.

Things got even more complicated after the Ulduar changes, when I could no longer simply teleport and run through to the Conservatory. I ended up needing help from my g.friend just to get past the trash and finish the run. It was honestly a painful grind — but worth it.

When the belt finally dropped, it felt amazing. I used it on all my rogue transmogs, and even on my druid. The look was iconic: the exposed midsection, the defined abs, the way it changed how the chest piece looked.

It was unique, bold, and honestly one of my favorite transmogs in the game. Then I logged in recently… and the appearance had changed. The Belt of the Sleeper now looks like a generic gold belt. The defining visual that made it special is gone. I’m genuinely confused and disappointed.

After all the effort — leveling, gearing, farming Ulduar 25, dealing with changes to the raid — seeing the transmog quietly altered feels really sad.

So my question is simple: Was this change intentional? And if so, why remove such a distinctive and loved appearance?

I’m not asking for power, stats, or balance changes. Just clarity — and hopefully reconsideration — for an item that meant a lot to players who went through the grind for it.
