whats the point of crafted gear if its 15lvls below BoA benthic gear from vendor?

The new crafted stuff is at 440 already.

The recipes for the 425 and 440 require the tool (I don’t remember the name) to be upgraded via items only available in the upcoming raid, so the highest you can craft currently is 410, however, you need to craft the 410 items to learn the next step (like you did before), so there is value in crafting those (and its only 75 pearls to create the tool level 1 vs 170 to upgrade one piece of benthic gear to 425).
If the raid drop is locked behind an already existing level 1 tool, it is totally worth to invest those pearls, if not you might want to invest into benthic armor first and wait till you have enough stuff to upgrade all the way to 440 craftables.
Ah, yea i hadn’t noticed the tool requirement.
I just noticed i had the 440 recipes on some of my profs, without any special materials required.
But it doesn’t change much, just because it’s not available directly doesn’t make it useless (or lower level) compared to Benthic gear.
True, but noone is arguing that Benthic is useless. He’s saying Crafted is.

I totally agree with you - it is not.
Even if you say the currently accesible crafted gear is, it is needed as a waypoint and therefore has it’s merit.

Heres a list of benthic armor
They come with preset stats, and the non azerite pieces have multiple possible ones that can pop for a given slot.
Compared how painful it is to gain manapearls, I would say that crafted gear by far have the edge on benthic gear. But in turn only having 1-2 personal pieces at most.
